  1. The runs charged to Berrios were let in by the reliever after him, fwiw
  2. YES!! nailed it. I am also guessing your "In slow" the other day was supposed to be "Breslow" * though with respect to his fastball, "in slow" has a ring of truth to it
  3. Yet if I recall, you were actually making the case for him to start the season in the rotation, correct?
  4. Yes, including me. A little too much angst for something that was a long shot, at best.
  5. Hey Van, while waiting on hold just now, I had an epiphany that it's going to be a long season. I might become a regular caller. Can I get a moniker? Something catchy, somewhere in between "young guy" and "clubhouse veteran." What do you think? Thanks!
  6. Front row: J. T. Chargois, Byron Buxton. Back row: Max Kepler, Ryan Vogelsong, Eddie Rosario. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hVNvoB0vDTg/UVuE_ojtv1I/AAAAAAAAAp4/98bQ7lX88Bg/s1600/hitchhiker.jpg
  7. 8. It makes me happy to pretend Duffey is ahead of Vogelsong on the starting pitcher depth chart. Oops, I mean... It makes me happy to pretend Duffey is ahead of Vogelsong on the starting pitcher depth chart!!!
  9. I would also prefer Boshers or O'Rourke as a lefty specialist to Breslow.
  10. I think you are getting your players confused
  11. Dozier was the only veteran still standing when the Twins started playing good baseball in late July. Why single him out?
  12. On the contrary, I think it tells us Levine and Falvey think there is no leadership potential within our young core of guys. That tells me a lot, because I happen to disagree 10000%
  13. Just look at that Twins lineup. Wouldn't you fake an injury, too?
  14. I don't get it with the replacement level veterans, either. One thing about Cleveland when Falvey was there, was they seemed to promote guys by what was best for the player. The example is reliever Cody Allen, who was a 20th round pick, but was promoted through the minors about as fast as humanly possible with no ill effect. So obviously they saw something in Allen and didn't let the memory of his draft round cloud their judgment. I bet if Jay thrives again as a reliever and stays healthy there's a 50/50 chance we see him in MLB this season.
  15. I think the days of young Twins pitchers grinding out season after season in the minors are done. It will be much more case-by-case going forward. The old front office should have known about drafting Jay and trying to make him into a starter. The new front office at least is correcting course right away.
  16. I underestimated how many innings he has actually thrown, so you are probably right. However I was thinking several years into the future. Still probably not likely.
  17. It's an interesting idea lots of us have been wondering about for years. Teams like Cardinals promote a guy quickly or use him in the MLB pen, then convert back to starter later on.
  18. Snark aside, the best thing Hillary could do to help fix our politics is stay out of the spotlight. Like, forever. She has all the time and money in the world. If she genuinely cares about helping the poor, she can change her clothes, roll up her sleeves, and spend some unstructured time in the rural areas working next to people and, getting them better informed, and organizing. It's hard work and a lot of doors will slam in her face. Just my opinion. What would people think of that, or of having Hillary back in the mix?
  19. Rest assured, everyone. Hillary says she's "coming out of the woods" and ready to get back into politics. This should heal divisions. #ThisShouldHealDivisions
  20. I just read something about Obamacare provisions starting to come into effect, and voters are crediting Trump #LOLDemocrats
  21. Agree. Mainly I'm trying to figure out what Vogelsong is doing to merit consideration. It can't be anything to do with how he has pitched the past few years or even this spring.
  22. Basically, how I read this was Molitor and Allen wish none of the pitchers was at the WBC so that the pitchers could stay on the Twins program. The rotation guess looks like reporter-guessing based on the conversation with Molitor. How did you read it different?
  23. You may or may not be at odds with the new front office. Tell me more.
  24. With Vogelsong, Breslow and Belisle still in camp, we have three washed up veteran bullpen pitchers in a fierce battle for only two washed up veteran bullpen spots. That is the spring training competition I will be watching.
  25. Would you like his outing better if he gave up three home runs?
