That's not good. He probably didn't miss three scoops all season.
  2. Hosken Bombo Disco
yeah, it's a pretty open question who would be the fourth starter. Let's also hope that becomes a real question

    sell?

Joe Nathan just signed a one-day Twins contract -- however, I would stop short of unretiring Nathan and putting him back on the postseason roster

This is fascinating to know, and promising, and very different from the 2009-2010 Yankee team that was taking the foot off the gas late in the season in order to get a #2 seed, so they could play the Twins who were the 3 seed.

Belisle and his 87-89 mph smoke, with the save

Going through the motions of getting the highest possible draft pick next summer! So glad we're not having that conversation anymore.

Tigers shoulda hired Gardy prior to 2016. Remember Detroit had that handshake deal with Gardenhire to manage, until some meddling blogger scooped the real reporters, and the Tigers decided to save face and bring Ausmus back. Because access.

Molitor is intelligent but a little old school. I appreciate how he doesn't speak in cliches or play into false narratives others try to set him up for. Better the devil you know... That said, if this team embarrasses itself in NY one more time I don't care what happens to him.

Drafting Royce Lewis instead of playing the pitcher lottery, then seeing Lewis do pretty well.

Great call by Molitor in the 8th, to pinch run Granite for Mauer when Mauer advanced to second on Polanco's single. The next batter hit a single to left, which Mauer would not have been waved around on, but Granite was waved around and made it home with time to spare. You don't see it work so perfectly very often!

New discussion thread idea: When does Zack Granite pass Joe Mauer for home runs on the season?
  14. Hosken Bombo Disco
Actually, what they say is, "when your leadoff hitter gets multiple RBI in the same inning.... then.... that is supposed to be a good thing.

You know what they say.... when your pinch runner gets RBIs in the same inning...

I always rush to the game thread when the Twins take the lead. What is wrong with me??

A little less urgent decision now

    Twins baseball!

It's now an endorphin-fueled sprint to the finish, and Molitor is throwing out the platoon splits and playing his best players. Approve!
  22. Hosken Bombo Disco
All the better when you consider Falvey orchestrated that Verlander trade to the 'Stros. #7dimensionalChess

80 wins! My preseason prediction was too pessimistic!!

Great article. Buxton will always be a guy who is streaky and tinkering with his swing. Many big leaguers do that. And yeah, while half of Twins Daily posters were saying just be patient, behind the scenes Rowson was actually talking the front office into not demoting him? Wow.
  25. Hosken Bombo Disco
Yeah, that would be a super smart idea. Mauer could come to Target Field in an opposing uniform and Twins fans would have to watch him help his new team knock the Twins out of the pennant race. I'm just saying I think Mauer could buy some good will by signing small year to year contracts.
