  1. I'm thinking you mean projections and prospect rankings and such, instead of numbers.
  2. yeah I can't wait for the game threads either
  3. I'd say "absolutely roasted" is an exaggeration. Unless you have links to other discussions or other information to share or there's a radio guy with a bone to pick that you heard. In the 45 comments below the article, it's slightly in favor of Liberty's property development, but no one's really roasting Calcaterra over his position on it, and the comment thread somehow devolves into a discussion Apple's iPad before page two (not unlike discussions here)
  4. I thought the liberals won the war on Christmas, but I could be wrong. #happyholidays
  5. It would be interesting to know what they would have gotten for Granite last off-season. At least to me.
  6. Granite was a player Pittsburgh was rumored to be interested in, when they were shopping Gerrit Cole last off-season.
  7. He’s no Tony Peña, but maybe someday
  8. Bummer. At least he’ll have fresher legs a few years hence.
  9. Plenty of guys tinker with their hitting stance and approach their whole careers. Cal Ripken comes to mind. Buxton appears to be one of those guys; I’ve been saying this for years actually. I wouldn’t be shocked one bit if he changes his approach again at some point.
  10. There was nothing inevitable about automation or robots or “technological progress” replacing jobs. Putting more and more Americans out of work and into welfare, workers comp, opioid abuse and suicide is a result of policies endorsed by the pro-business and moderates of both parties. The left has fought and fought to keep jobs and workers (remember unions n’ stuff?) but the battle may be lost. And it’s a sick ****ing joke on all of us that the people who run this country, politicians, businessmen or otherwise, have put the blame on the left for this state of affairs. Just a friendly reminder for people.
  11. Yes, I do, of course. I also think he’s horrible. I think he’s a product of the system, which is also horrible in itself.
  12. There’s still a difference?
  13. I agree—this might literally be the first women he’s ever had to deal with (Sad!) and she’s just having him for lunch.
  14. This year, in Cedar Rapids? Yeah, maybe.
  15. Yup—glad to have you on board!
  16. We traded Lynn to the Yankees for Tyler Austin and a rookie-league arm. We thought we got value from that trade, but who knows. Austin is young, plays 1B and appears to be able to mash lefties, but then our front office went and claimed CJ Cron from Tampa Bay, another right-handed hitting 1B only. So, who knows. Lynn was also one of the pitchers who signed really late in spring training, and didn't appear to be in shape when he arrived. Just an overall forgettable deal.
  17. Runners in scoring position is not quite the same thing as critical situations (or LI). I once did a semi-deep dive on Castro’s 2017 situational hitting and I agree with the other poster. However, I’m still good with Castro as a starter in 2019.
  18. Those PA look like the players’ upper bounds, especially for Sano, but otherwise looks pretty close. I also think the Twins break camp with 12 or only 11 pitchers, though that doesn’t really create extra PAs.
  19. Agree. I’m not sure what the hell this is or where it came from, and not sure I want to spend another minute finding out.
  20. Maybe, but I think it might be more complicated than that. Maybe they left the decision to Molitor, and Molitor preferred Wilson. Molitor wouldn’t use Astudillo at all behind the plate when Astudillo finally did get his call up. Not to single out Molitor— other orgs didn’t give him an MLB shot either, but then, he’s only 27 now and not exactly over the hill. Someone mentioned in another thread that the team thinks his catching skills are at least average, which puts him ahead of Garver.
  21. “Were [Astudillo] to accumulate enough starts at catcher, he'd likely rank among the league's best hitters at the position.” Great win for the organization finding this guy and bringing him in. Maybe it’s time to consider Astudillo the best catcher on the team, better overall than Castro and almost certainly better than Garver?
  22. Well, his platoon split is the same
  23. Unfortunate that Park didn’t mention Willians Astudillo in this article. How is Astudillo’s framing? There must be a coach who could give a quote. We know Astudillo’s receiving must be better than Garver’s, and his bat played much better than Castro’s last year, so should we start making the argument that Astudillo is the best catcher on the club?
