  1. Or, I should have said he was promoted to AAA on the 23rd. Thanks. As for last year, the Twins might have left him in Rochester after that start, to see what happened -- just an opinion.
  2. Good point. The FSL does have the lowest scoring of any of the leagues - bbref link here. For 2015, an ERA of 3.21 in the FSL would be an ERA of 3.52 and 4.25 in the other High A leagues. So, not too far off.
  3. I think when a relief pitcher like Tonkin comes to bat and miraculously works a 2-0 count in his favor, you give him the take sign the rest of the at bat. What's the worst that could happen? And just to be sure he Tonkin doesn't miss the take sign, you yell "TAKE!" from the dugout before every pitch.
  4. Good article and finding the May 23 date. That would be the Twins typical timeline but I really hope we see a move made sooner.
  5. I don't understand the urge to option O'Rourke and keep Milone. O'Rourke seems very good against lefties. Is it because O'Rourke doesn't get shelled by both RHB and LHB equally? Otherwise I agree the next starter to take a shot will be a guy already on the 40 man. Ryan continues to say this will be a short term injury for Perkins.
  6. From the looks of it, Tonkin, Pressly, and about 8 other guys.
  7. Hate the ragging on Arcia, but like the joke.
  8. Yeah he has all night. Not good. Learning experience I hope!
  9. No, that is still the process of figuring it out. He hasn't even hit his 25th birthday yet.
  10. All he needs now is to be put back at his better position, which is Right Field
  11. Well, your preparatory clauses need to be reworked.... I thought it was more likely than not that Gardy would have to be terminated than he would leave of his own volition, and I wouldn't assume he is universally respected (to say nothing of being so universally respected) but I did and do believe he will manage again. Because he said he would. I believe he was a signature away from being the Detroit manager and that whole fiasco. I believe he would be appealing to certain clubs and be successful. However, yes it raises questions at least to me if this is just a golden parachute gig, not that he'd be bad for us to have out in the field for a while. We shall see.
  12. "It was clear at the time that it would be just a matter of time before Gardenhire rejoined the organization. He took 2015 off, and he was in the running for the manager jobs in Washington and San Diego. When San Diego offered him a job in their front office, and he declined, it was inevitable that it was just a matter of time before he would rejoin the Twins." Seth I'm not sure I agree with this. In the press conference, Gardy was pretty firm in the idea that he would manage again. Gardy is a little too polarizing for this to be a great ambassadorial move. This only makes sense to me if Gardy approached the Twins first because he believes it will help him get another manager gig someday soon--there would be nothing wrong with that.
  13. is that you, Eddie?? http://s3.birthmoviesdeath.com/images/made/eddiegaedel_1050_591_81_s_c1.jpg
  14. I first heard that joke in 1949, 1955, 1967, 1972, and 1979. * *in Readers Digest
  15. At least you are not drawing interest while waiting for my comeback
  16. I am drawing up a comeback to that as we speak....
