  1. You're assuming there are no other injuries between now and the trade deadline.
  2. He's making more money than the Twins have in their budget. If the Red Sox are willing to eat the remaining salary, I'd give up quite a bit. I suspect another team would still out-bid the Twins.
  3. They have spent so much effort on finding RH bats that finding a lefthanded power hitter for the infield could be useful. France could stick around to platoon and pinch hit. Kody Clemens has been pretty awesome this month, but his career split is just a 666 OPS vs RHP.
  4. There is another article just posted, but mostly Brooks Lee and Royce Lewis at-bats. Probably Kody Clemens also as he comes back to reality. It would be great if they didn't use Jeffers at DH at all.
  5. It's more that Pablo Lopez has been at his best (highest ERA+ of his career, lowest FIP) but he hasn't been at his healthiest.
  6. They can replace Bride with a bat who complements one of the other starters or even just a pure DH/PH bat. Lee and Castro offer positional flexibility. Bride is redundant, not complementary depth.
  7. I think it is a much safer bet that Freddie Freeman is healthy and effective at the end of the season than Chris Paddack. Freeman is going to be inducted into the Hall of Fame some day. Paddack might visit, but he'll have to buy a ticket.
  8. OBP is the most important of any of the metrics because of what it measures inversely - does the player make outs at the plate. Outs are precious, you only get 3 every inning.
  9. Thanks for the context. I saw the triple slash above and thought nobody could beat an OBP of .623. Someone should tell the author that triple slash stats are usually AVG/OBP/SLG. If you want to add OPS you should add another slash and put it at the end. Don't remove OBP - AVG/SLG/OPS isn't a thing.
  10. Rumors are starting about the Red Sox selling Alex Bregman. That's exactly what the Twins need.
  11. Kody Clemens has a shot at MLB player of the month of May.
  12. Jonah Bride is on the roster doing mostly nothing. There's room for another bat.
  13. The A's outfield defense is not good. Makes me appreciate having Buxton and Bader on the Twins.
  14. Probably available (depending on how the team fares in June) Orioles: Ryan O'Hearn, Ryan Mountcastle, Cedric Mullins, Ramon Laureano Pirates: Joey Bart Marlins: Jesus Sanchez Angels: Yoan Moncada, Jorge Soler Athletics: Luis Urias, Miguel Andujar Rockies: Ryan McMahon, Hunter Goodman Arizona: Josh Naylor, Lourdes Gurriel, Eugenio Suarez, Randall Grichuk Reds: Jose Trevino, Austin Hays White Sox: Andrew Benintendi, Luis Robert Red Sox: Rafael Devers, Rob Refsnyder Rangers: Adolis Garcia
  15. Ask the pitching coach. If they think he can tweak a pitch or add another one, then keep him. If they don't have any confidence, then cut him loose. The line between effective and bad is very small for MLB relievers.
  16. It is difficult to see how Paddack gets traded in a deadline deal. There aren't many teams looking for pitching who would want to sell offense or a young catcher to get it. The best fit I see is the Cubs and the Twins would certainly ask for Moises Ballesteros in return.
  17. I think he should make an All-Star team this season.
  18. I'm just asking for an article on the #2 and #3 topics instead of daily articles on the #1 topic. There are plenty of things to discuss, no need to fixate.
  19. I don't blame the Twins for preferring to give playing time to Royce Lewis over Mickey Gasper. Playing time is valuable and I'd rather spend it on developing Lewis. It's likely Gasper would rot on the bench because he doesn't play 3B and Bride would get the playing time.
  20. Lewis reminds me a little of the struggles of Spencer Torkelson in 2024. BTW - are we going to get an article every day about sending Royce Lewis to the minors? If so, can you change the name of the website to "Send Royce Lewis to the Minors Daily"?
  21. Mountcastle is having a down season, is currently injured and looks like a non-tender candidate this offseason. He could be bought low. Ryan O'Hearn is a pending free agent and is playing well right now, I'd rather have O'Hearn at the moment. I'd also love to swipe Hunter Goodman off the Rockies roster. The team could clearly use another bat. They're getting very little offense out of 1B and 3B. Kody Clemens is not going to hit like Shohei Ohtani for the whole season. It would be ideal to find a team interested in giving Miranda or Julien another chance.
  22. Looks like some Senators are attempting to extort bribes from billionaire sports team owners.
  23. The Twins believe there is data that sitting and getting back into the game leads to injury for relievers.
