    Hicks

This is hyperbole in the other direction. The most dangerous thing Joe Mauer does every day is drive to the ballpark. If another concussion would noticeably impact his lifelong health he should retire.

    Hicks

Jordan Schafer versus RHP in 2015: .459 OPS Shane Robinson versus LHP in 2015: .594 OPS Looks like Hicks is outplaying both halves of the original CF platoon.
  3. I disagree completely. A $2M contract in the context of MLB is a small bet. If you can't admit that you lose a few small bets then you don't have what it takes to be a MLB GM. A GM should lose a few small bets every year because sometimes they pay off huge. A GM should be more embarrassed by keeping a bad player on the MLB roster while it costs his team wins.
  4. My guess Santana to the Twins Hicks to the Twins Aaron Thompson to Rochester Sano to Rochester That's it for a while
  5. I would absolutely read into the release of Wheeler that they're planning on promoting Sano soon. Niko Goodrum can go back to playing 3B in AA.
  6. Is this just anecdotal evidence regarding park factors in Chattanooga or is there actual data that the park supresses HR?
  7. I'm impressed with how Cedar Rapids keeps winning without a whole lot of top offensive talent. Let's see if they can keep it up without Gonsalves.
  8. If Milone likes pitching when it is humid he should do well in Target Field in August.
  9. I think the Dodgers might listen if the Twins call offering a pitcher. I'd love to dump Nolasco on them but they would probably prefer Milone or Pelfrey.
  10. "The hope is no doubt that an outfield of Oswaldo Arcia, Byron Buxton and Aaron Hicks would be the configuration for many years to come" I think the only sure thing for years to come is Byron Buxton. Rosario was mentioned but his upside is that of a starter. Kepler, Walker and Harrison are all performing rather well in AA this year and any one of them could be up as soon as 2017. They're going to end the drought of outfield talent with a flood.
  11. "this is still a young kid" He's 25. When I was 25 I had two kids and a mortgage.
  12. The downside is slipping out of contention because they stayed with placeholders in CF too long. Are they playing for 3rd place?
  13. I was thinking more of experience facing batters and ability to sustain performance than burden on his arm but fair point.
  14. He's started all of 12 games at Cedar Rapids including last season. They can wait until after the all-star games with Gonsalves. He's never thrown more than 65 innings in a season at the professional level.
  15. Bernier is being brought up to sit on the bench for 10 days. Pinto needs to come up and play.
  16. As the parent of a Special Olympics silver medalist I can assure you I couldn't be prouder of his and his teammates accomplishments. Your comments aren't funny and instead make you look like an ignorant, clueless jerk. My son is nobody's punchline.
  17. "against the unwritten rules" Ever notice how many of the unwritten rules are just macho stupidity?
  18. I remember when Willie Banks was the hot prospect but they didn't have blogs then.
  19. Starting April 24 there are 17 games in a row without an off day. My guess is they'll need him at some point in that stretch.
  20. Escobar is better right now. Santana has the ability but is inconsistent.
  21. I like the roster question. A followup would be how he deals with roster turnover as the year goes on. How do you keep a team together when it isn't the same set of guys at the end of the year?
  22. I would disagree. Arcia doesn't deserve a scholarship, especially in April. Pinch hit for him if it can win you the game.
  23. Yeah, I'm not understanding how the problem is that the roster is uninspiring and the solution is Eric Farris. I don't think people in Rochester get excited to see Eric Farris.
  24. No, Fryer isn't on the 40 man roster and they'd have to cut someone else to add him.
  25. Looking at the schedule, Saturday April 18th would be a great time to have Pinto back. It's the second in a set of day games after night games. That would limit Herrmann to maybe two starts and give Pinto two weeks to get into game shape. Chris Herrmann's purpose on the roster is to get shuttled back and forth to AAA Rochester.
