    He's also going to be 39. Odds are more likely than not that Carlos Santana won't be as good next season. It's likely that Santana will be less dynamic, clutch and worse at fielding.

    Lewis and Miranda are both corner infielders. Julien has the physical tools to play 1B and is stretched anywhere else. Kirilloff might even get another chance. I expect the 2025 infield to be Correa, Lewis, Miranda, Julien, Castro and Lee. It is more likely they add to the outfield than to the infield.

    I could easily see the Twins missing the playoffs and using that as an excuse to tear down and rebuild, especially if they get new leadership in the front office.

    I think Paddack would get taken on waivers. 1 year, $7.5M isn't that much for most teams.

    Maybe, but missing an entire season with injury can't help his arbitration case. I can't see him getting above $2M which is almost nothing for a major leaguer.

    Keirsey and Helman really don't add anything over playing Margot and Farmer. They're just another warm body. Correa and Buxton add upside on the days they can play. On the days they can't play you will see Farmer and Margot but you would see them just as often with Keirsey and Helman on the roster.

    I am only interested in a Twins subscription and would love to just pay MLB.tv for one. Cable networks and subscriptions are just middle men who offer very little added value in the YouTube era. People want to be able to watch the game without hassle. I've been loving the Roku broadcasts because I can just turn a game on and watch it. Most of my baseball TV viewing is the MLB.tv free game of the day or Fox/Roku national broadcasts.

    Fubo just sued over Venu sports. If the major sports created their own network and forced everyone to subscribe at $60/month to watch sports there would be legal action. It may not be successful but it could effectively delay the launch.

    I think this would be challenged in court for violating anti-trust laws.

    I think one of the first costs they will cut in an MLB streaming package will be broadcast crews for each team. There is really no need to have a separate crew for each team if every game is a national broadcast on streaming. I expect each team will get one TV guy and they'll combine for the broadcast like we saw on Sunday on the Roku broadcast.

    I looked through the transactions and Varland has been optioned 5 times already which means they would have to outright him to send him to the minor leagues.

    MLB needs to increase the number of people watching baseball on television and needs to be willing to take less revenue in the short term to make that happen.

    How many times has Varland been optioned already this season? You can only go down 5 times. I can understand why they may want to save Zebby's options for 2025-27. None of them have options.

    I think it's Zebby or Varland. It's not Tonkin or Blewett because neither have options. They would have opened the roster spot by releasing one of them.

    3-4 might be enough on this road trip if KC and Baltimore take care of Detroit. I don't think this race will be decided until the final weekend.

    He's playing poorly. He can't score from 2B on a single and he almost got thrown out on a double to the wall because he had to jog to 2B. He looks like a 50+ year old beer league softball player who crushes a ball to the fence, jogs to 1B and then has his kid pinch run for him.

    50% of Buxton/Correa is probably better than Helman/Keirsey

    Batting them lower in the lineup so they can have fewer at-bats is counterintuitive. If they're hitting well you want to bat them higher in the lineup so they have more opportunities to hit. You can always remove them from the game if it is decided early. They're batting 5th and 6th now because they haven't seen live pitching in a while. If they keep hitting well, I would move them up higher.

    There are rumors that Topa might come up. I will believe that when he's in the clubhouse.

    If they need a 4th starter in the playoffs then they won the wild-card round.
