    For no discernible reason, earlier today I recalled Johnny Cash's funeral, and how everyone there dressed just like him. That is all.

    Just some thots... Fifty years ago today, the Twins led the Senators 7-0 at home after six innings, but gave up seven runs in the 7th and lost in 20 innings, 9-7. Minnesota then lost the AL pennant on the season's last day. So close. But what do I know. I was 11 at the time, living in Flint and rooting for the Tigers and -- gasp! -- the Yankees. I sense good things happening with the Twins yet this season.

    Just an aside, but my sense is neither team wins it all. Heck, they may very well not win their leagues. Superior talent, but all their W's have come early and way too easy. Will they respond when they come up against a truly hot team in the postseason?

    Got home in time from work to see Belisle's excellent punch-out to Choo's back foot. Love big comeback wins where every inning is a highwire act. A winning streak would be nice right about now.

    Everytime I see the word Tucson it reminds me of when I was a kid and always pronounced it Tuck-son. And Iowa was I-owe-way. And LA was, uh, El-lay. That is all.
