  1. I'd personally love the signing. Let Reynolds and Kubel split the atbats at DH. Go with Willy, Presley, and Arcia in the OF.
  2. At this point I think its absolutely dumb to pursue arroyo. They have plenty of in house candidates to fill the 5th spot. Garza is the only pitcher that makes sense now. Garza, Nolasco, Hughes, Pelfrey, and Correia makes this team division contenders. Especially if they add a bat.
  3. I look for Correia to have a strong 1st half and bring a decent return in a trade.
  4. I have pelfrey penciled in for 30 wins the next two seasons.
  5. Dont understand the pelfrey hate. He's a solid #4 and he'll be much improved from last year. Now sign garza!
  6. I'd offer him 4/$60 million with a $15 million 5th year if he pitches 400 innings the last two years. My final offer would be 4/$64 with a $16m 5th year.
  7. Hopefully its just a smoke screen.
  8. How do I get the auto correct feature to work? Is it something on my end, or is there somewhere on this website I can enable it? I post from my iphone.

Didnt realize you were 59. Guess I better respect my elders! Im old too. Just turned 40 in Nov. Just assure me of one thing.... You didnt vote for Harry Reid, did you?

  9. He was a sulker who couldnt handle criticism, even if it was constructive. Overall I guess I liked Jacque. Best memory? Probably opening day 2002.
  10. If they signed garza, arroyo, and pelfrey, I'll run down the street naked.
  11. 2015: 1. CF Buxton 2. 1B Mauer 3. 3B Sano 4. DH Arcia 5. RF Hicks 6. LF Rosario 7. 2B Dozier 8. SS Drew 9. C Pinto 1. Garza 2. Meyer 3. Nolasco 4. Hughes 5. Deduno/May/Gibson/Berrios
  12. Garza will follow the money.
  13. Would just love to see them go all in on garza and call it an offseason.
  14. Its an epidemic on this team right now, and it all starts with Gardenhire. This is the culture he wants. I think it makes him feel more in control.....more important. Players missing long stretches with minor injuries, but they do it because they can. They're actually almost encouraged to. Shutting Arcia down last year was a joke.
  15. His throw to the plate in the 12th inning of 2004 game 2 ALDS. He caught the ball a few steps from the infield and Lecroy still had to cut it off! Oh the memories! On a serious note. His 2005 8th inning HR against the Whitesox to break up the no-hitter and give them a 1-0 win. I also enjoyed his 18-hop throws to the plate, and his occasional air mail throw 50 feet above the catchers head into or over the netting. I once read a story of Jacque getting a fan ejected because the fan angrily yelled at jacque to hustle off the field when the inning was over.
  16. Great post. I edited it down to my favorite parts. "25 guys who want to play". Reusse has made reference to this on numerous occasions. Gardy has to walk through the clubhouse to find out who's willing to play today. Sad thing is Gardy's the one who created this culture in the first place. Another example Reusse mentioned the other day.....Last September Arcia bumped his knee in pregame and they shut him down for the rest of the season. Gardy's instilling this mindset in his rookies from day one. And to those who are now gonna jump in and say "you dont know how bad his knee hurt".....SAVE IT! It was a simple bruise. Players with pride who want to play A KIDS GAME fight through minor nagging stuff like this.
  17. Not many rumors in this thread.
  18. I dont understand the angst people have with trading perkins. For pete's sake, he's a relief pitcher. He started out hot last year but had his share of lumps as the year went on. Closer's are overrated to begin with, and one of the easiest positions to replace. With his affordable contract, Perkins could be a huge trading chip for this rebuild. Rebuilding teams dont need elite closers!
  19. Then again, move Rosario back to the outfield and keep dozier. Rosario will probably be a better hitter than gardner anyway.
  20. Regardless of the 50 game suspension, trading dozier for gardner makes sense because it opens the door for rosario. Plus, with willingham gone in a year, Arcia moving to DH, and the question marks with hicks, I think gardner makes perfect sense. 2015 DH Arcia LF Gardner CF Buxton RF Hicks Lets roll
  21. I would be stunned if the yankees would do that trade. I dont think dozier is their type of player.
  22. I would be ecstatic to not have duensing or diamond on the team this seaaon. Never understood Gardy's infatuation with duensing.
  23. They are. I applaud them for ignoring framing statistics.
  24. I haven't heard about his elbow. Is this a ligament issue?
  25. That makes sense. I'd love Gardner. A shortstop who can hit would be nice. I'd put Dozier on the block and patch it together at 2nd base until Rosario's back.
