  1. Well stated. 2007-2009 he was dreadful in Aug/Sept all three years. Most aggravating was 2009 when he was hurt and played terrible for weeks but kept on playing until he hit his 30th homerun. THEN he shut it down. And the team went on a great run WITHOUT him (mercifully).
  2. But on a serious note, I really did like Jamey Carroll. Flawless in the field. Even got an occasional big hit. I hope he helps KC.
  3. Yep, its OK to be terrible as long as you run out grounders. They've been pounding it into our heads for so long most of us believe it!
  4. Absolutely, positively, spot on.
  5. 1. CF Buxton 2. RF Mauer 3. DH Arcia 4. 1B Sano 5. 3B Rosario 6. LF Hicks 7. 2B Dozier 8. C Pinto 9. SS Santana
  6. He's an adequate stopgap, but when/if they ever contend again, they gotta have a SS who hits a little better.
  7. My heart leapt in my chest when I read this post. I firmly believe this to be true.
  8. If giving up a run scoring single or a 3 run bomb is enough to shake his confidence then somethings wrong.
  9. And still a 4 run lead. Whats your point? It would have scarred him for life?
  10. It should have been 100% Albers decision to stay in or not. Its not gardy's preordained right to be the "protector" of his young arms. Seven run lead. Let the kid make the decision. Its his arm. His career. A shutout in his first ML start was something he would have cherished forever.
  11. Up by 7 and two outs from a shutout in his first ML start, it was a travesty to pull him. How many players can lay claim to pitching a shutout in their first ML start? A select few. You leave him in until he loses the shutout. Obviously. Are we honestly to the point where we have to worry about damaging his confidence if you leave him out there and he gives up a 3-run bomb? This aint little league. These are grown men. Except on this team they're coddled grown men.
  12. Its not a coincidence diamond had his best start of the year with butera behind the plate.
  13. I think I'd like someone other than rick anderson working with our young pitchers.
  14. What has plouffe done to deserve to still be on this team? He has been dreadful. Right now I'll take anybody at 3B over him. Carroll, escobar, ANYBODY.
  15. Literally every single twin on the trading block has played horribly of late or is injured.
  16. Too hot and cold for me. He's prone to some brutal slumps. SANO SANO SANO SANO!
  17. Im not gonna entirely blame Anderson. The problem is the pitching philosophy of the organization as a whole. The way they've drafted. How they develop prospects. Anderson is only half the problem.
  18. As frustrating and insulting as Ryan's smug comments may be, he's not the problem. We have an ownership problem. Ryan is just a company man who wouldn't even have a job with a competent owner.
