  1. I'd go hard after Garza, even if they have to over pay. The money's there. Pohlad can spend it or put it in his pocket. If Gardy and Andy dont like it, dont let the door hit them on the way out. Time for change anyway.
  2. If now's not the right time, when is? He's had an assortment of injuries his entire career, and now add concussion to the list. What more has to happen to him? Whats gonna happen next time he takes a foul tip? If EVER there was a time its now.
  3. AJ was a key if not vital cog on that world series team. Dont worry though. I'd be stunned if they brought him back. It aint happening. Gardenhire hates him too.
  4. It should be such an easy decision. Catching wears him down. Put him at 1B and he'll get his legs back. He'll be a better hitter. Heck, we could be looking at another 2009 if he moves to 1B. He cant take the grind anymore.
  5. Yeah, I remember. An isolated incident six years ago. I look at it more as being antagonistic. I think AJ would add a component this team sorely misses. Not to mention ring cred, being a key member of that 2005 team.
  6. A move to 1st would be best for the team. Mauer shouldnt have a say in it.
  7. And when exactly did this happen?
  8. LF Arcia CF Hicks RF Presley/Parmelee/Plouffe DH Willingham 1B Mauer 2B Dozier SS Florimon 3B Sano C Pinto Make Rosario an outfielder again. Rosario (RF) and Santana (SS) midseason call ups. LF Arcia CF Hicks RF Rosario DH Willingham 1B Mauer 2B Dozier SS Santana 3B Sano C Pinto In 2015 swap out Buxton for Willingham and lets roll! 10. He didnt know what to do when he saw AJ blocking the plate, and he wanted nothing to do with contact or getting his uniform dirty. Laziest play I've ever seen. You'd think a player just barely holding on to a major league job would play with a little more urgency.
  11. Well, Bruno had a very nice career with the twins, topped off by his outstanding 1987 postseason. And he went on to be very successful in st. louis and boston. I dont think his april 1988 slump should have warranted trading him, although I heard rumors there were scandalous reasons that contributed to him being traded.
  12. Bruno's had so much talent to work with.
  13. Im looking at Arcia as a future DH. My future outfield is Kepler, Buxton, Hicks.
  14. Any major league pitcher who hits his spots is fine. His problem is, and always has been, that he consistently misses his spots. Him and swarzak need to be flip flopped.
  15. I sure hope he figures it out, but he LIVES up in the strike zone. Even in his nice start against the White Sox he got away with a ton of balls up.
  16. From what I've seen through four starts, I think Deduno & Albers could be solid 4th and 5th starters on a playoff team. Unfortunately for us, they're currently our 1 and 2 starters. What an indictment on Ryan.
  17. Meh. Not using sabermetrics is the least of their worries.
  18. Great take. Outstanding.
  19. No reason to catch another inning ever. He should be the full time DH from here on out. Without the wear and tear he'd probably put up 2009 numbers again.
  20. No thanks to any lineup including Plouffe.
  21. They should put doumit on waivers and either work out a trade or give him away. He should not be taking playing time from young players.
  22. And morneau clears waivers
  23. Isn't Matt Garza a free agent? Especially with morneau's contract off the books, the money is there. Pipe dream, I know.
  24. Yeah, that poster was wrong about 2006, but otherwise pretty accurate. I remember one of those seasons late in the year he called out Casilla and then morneau proceeded to go on a brutal, horrendous stretch of his own. Probably why he's never called out anyone since.
