David Woodley

He basically was a poor man's Kevin Slowey IMO, and that isn't really a compliment. Both guys did well in the minors because they had decent control. However the lack of movement and keeping the ball down really killed Hendrik's during his time in the majors. I mean it would be nice to see him turn it around because he seems like a solid enough guy, I just don't see it happening. And for all the talk about the Twins choosing to cut him instead of someone else, I dont really get the argument. Yes, he has more upside then Albers, but Albers prob has a much better shot at helping the Twins this year.

There is zero chance of that happening.

Kubel and Hart put up nearly identical lines in 2012 30 HR, .830-8.40 OPS 151 k's etc. Both had miserable 2013's for different reasons and are only a year a part age wise. I am guessing that if we signed Hart to a minor league deal (or any one year deal) people would be jumping for joy. Giving Kubel a minor league contract is an absolute no brainer that has zero risk. If he can find his 2011/2012 form he becomes a legitimate contributor to this team, and adds much needed depth.

With Sano's elbow they should prob just hurry up and get the Tommy John surgery out of the way now, that way he could be back by July.

These all look great! One more question: I was able to get Jacque to be kind enough to answer several questions for me earlier today, do any of you (Seth, Pig, Nick, John etc looking in your direction) Have any way to get in touch with Ryan or Gardy to ask them the same question? For a quick memory, story, quip about Jones?

Any thing else? Need these by EOD

Stephen Drew is a top 5 overall SS in the game. Florimon, is not and ultimately is a UTIL player (though a real nice one) at best on a winning team. If you don't have to break the bank for him, you absolutely have to give Drew an offer. Perfect #2 hitter IMO, and a stud defensively. Any claims that Florimon is the same thing as him are so off point it's not worth responding to. 3 years 31-35 mil? Get it done!

I am working on a short little blog article in regards to Jacque Jones since he is on the Hall of Fame ballot this year. A lot of it will be how he was one of the key "links" from the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Twins Years to the rejuvenated teams that won three straight division titles. I was hoping to include a couple short thoughts/quips from posters on Twinsdaily (and will credit them as such) in regards to Jacque Jones. So, what were your favorite Jones memories? My favorite memory is 2002 where he was arguably the Twins second best player and a big reason why they made the playoffs for the first time in over a decade, that season always reminded me of Shane Mack's "under the radar" 1991 season.
