  1. Looks like some promising arms. Do we know anything more about their stuff and how it will play at higher levels?
  2. Someone on the radio said that Molitor had hinted that Kepler would likely join the team after their season ended. But those darn Lookouts just keep winning. I hope MIentkiewicz doesn't bolt to another organization (Red Sox). He's moved up with many of his best prospects. That list is starting to dwindle with ABW and Kep likely to jump to AAA next season and Polanco, Bux, and Sano already gone. I don't know how interested he'll be in bringing along Gordon et al next season, although the Kernals may be a championship squad too.
  3. What about Dozier's K with the bases loaded. Sano bailed him out, but seriously, how long can we send him out there at the front of our line up?
  4. Buxton makes a slightly better late game defensive sub than Robinson, no slight to Shane.
  5. What's the status John Ferrell in Boston? As soon as he was diagnosed, I thought Dougy would be there next year. I'm not sure Mientkiewicz can play the game well enough (say the right things) in order to get hired, but he's an absolute winner as a coach and manager.
  6. The atmosphere at tonight's game is absolutely.... humid.
  7. And they walk Dozier to gave the 23 mil dollar man. Not embarrassing at all.
  8. A little late, but Mauer needs to learn to stretch.
  9. Suuuuper simple solution. Never go to a game ever and you'll never have to deal with a wave, or a beer vendor calling too loud, or a person walking down the row at the wrong time, or having to deal with emptying parking lots, or any of the other inconveniences which come with the ballpark experience. Stay at home with your jerky and Busch Light, and you'll never have a problem! If watching tens of thousands of people have fun at the same time makes you that upset, baseball may not be the national pass time for you. I'm sure there are some white-hot debtor/lender mediation blogs out there somewhere.
  10. Wow, how does Duffy's curveball have its own thread, but May's hook doesn't? That was filthy!
  11. So so true... Maybe someday I'll learn!
  12. Never thought about it that way... Would this team beat that team in a 7 game series? Out of the players that weren't new additions, I can really only say that Zuke, Duensing, Esco, Milone, and maybe May are performing better than earlier this year. Other than that, pretty much every other player on the team is playing worse, and in Dozier, Pelfrey, Perk, and Hunter's case, much worse. (Mauer's been worse as far as driving in runs, but he has been hitting pretty dreadfully the whole season). I think I'd take our prior team playing really well over the current team playing poorly plus new guys playing well. However, I like the potential of this team much MUCH more. *Is Nolasco actually a good player? ERA 5.51, FIP: 2.82, xFIP 4.00 .9 WAR in only 7 starts (5-1).
  13. Save some of those bullets for the mlb pen jose! Get that kid up here.
  14. Brock, excellent counter point, trout still looks like a bargain at this point. Is that an argument for waiting until arb though?
  15. Tobi, extremely good point and well stated. Nice to be talking about locking up am elite talent. But yeah, it puts into perspective the twins flaws in their unwillingness to sign elite free agent talent. Your advantage in growing your own, might be only for a year or two if you plan to keep them anyway.
  16. Wait what about Molitor's contract? Oh but managers can be fired... but probably not after a season... TK and Gardy both made the playoffs in their first years...
  17. Half serious, half tongue in cheek. The money is spent. I see Hughes as the most likely to be a good bull pen guy, other than May. You could also say, we're not paying Perkins much to be an elite closer, so maybe we should move him to 8th, and Hughes in for the save. I don't really care. I want the bull pen fixed. I don't want Hughes AND Perkins to run out of gas 2 consecutive years (Hughes maybe had just enough gas, recall he didn't want 1 extra out for like a quarter mil). It would still be cheaper than having Hughes AND signing an 8th inning guy. So yeah, maybe I'm talking myself into it. On the other hand, it's pretty late, and I'm pretty mad still about the last 2 losses...
  18. I think Hughes has to go back to the pen when he comes back from the DL. He's experienced there, and he's worn down. Come back next year and go Hughes into Perk.
  19. And when our pitchers are mowing them down, they're what, missing their spots? I find that hard to believe. Gibson was getting clobbered because he was falling behind and had to come in to good hitters swinging out of their shoes. Happens a lot against the Yankees and Jays it seems...
  20. Why did he throw to first though?
  21. He is the word... Perkins... 15 day DL
  22. How hard does Meyer ACTUALLY throw? Could he have some Betonces in him?
  23. If I have to watch A-Roid hit another walk-off...
