  1. Don't think you have a whole lot to worry about here....
  2. How bout trade kintzler and let Rogers close. Be nice to be on the other side of that whole Capps thing this time. I will eat my shoe if he keeps this up next year.
  3. Belisle should keep his crappy games to himself.
  4. Seen it mentioned on the boards before, but just to reiterate: Eric A Longenhagen: Blayne Enlow, RHP, St. Amat HS (LA) 1:09 Eric A Longenhagen: #33 overall on my board, chance for plus fastball and curveball, had one of the better max curveball spin rates measured on the showcase circuit (2700+ rpm)
  5. Noticed all of the top 6 picks were in the BA top 100, so their draft looks better by that measure.
  6. For all you complaining about the Twins outsmarting themselves, them and the Red Sox are the only teams so far to stick exclusively to ranked players with each pick. Go take a look at the Braves draft so far and ask yourself how you'd feel about that one!
  7. https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/undrafted There's still some low 1st round/high second round level talent available, although at this point I'm not encouraged.
  8. Yeah, the twins are going to sign Yu Darvish.
  9. He had something going on? Had a thing he had to be at?
  10. I don't necessarily hate the idea of them being ordered 1-9 by highest to least OBP, if they were to try that, and just hope for the sequencing.
  11. Another Fangraphs post from Dave Cameron in support of De Leon. I didn't realize Steamer projected his FIP this year to be in the Chris Sale, Jake Arrieta, Jon Lester, and Chris Archer range, although that's almost entirely based on his minor league numbers. I still think they need to get at least one other top 100 prospect, but this would disappoint me if they ultimately end up passing on him. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-twins-should-take-jose-de-leon-while-they-can/
  12. I think now that they presumably will have somebody savvy pulling the trigger, they shop him and try and make some meaningful improvements on the other side of the ball. They don't have anybody else that is going to to do that for them this offseason. I don't even think shopping Buxton or Sano (which would be crazy) would get them back what a current 7 win player will. If the younger guys don't take some steps forward next year they aren't going to be any good again anyway, with or without Dozier. Edit: of course as soon as I finish writing this he hits #42. Gonna be real sad to see him go, don't get me wrong.
  13. Whelp, him and TR probably wouldn't get along, but who cares! That guy don't work there no more.
  14. I am in no way a Terry Ryan apologist, but there was zero market for third basemen this off season. David Freese got a 1 yr 3MM deal from the Bucs as a free agent and Plouffe is a worse player making more than double that. He wouldn't have gotten anything for him then, but might get a little more than nothing now that a couple teams have developed a need. He played it as good as he could, which wasn't too good.
  15. https://twitter.com/AaronGleeman/status/725012347119538177 Aaron Gleeman ‏@AaronGleeman 2m2 minutes ago Jose Berrios wrote on Facebook that he's been called up by the Twins to debut tomorrow. Their top pitching prospect since Matt Garza in '06.
  16. There was always a decent chance Duffey was going to be a flash in the pan. Twins' rotations have been absolutely plagued by pretenders that have limited success and can't make any adjustments when the league catches up (Deduno, Pino.). He doesn't have any sort of track record to make you think it isn't the case here too. Not saying I have any faith in Rocky Nabisco but Duffey has a long way to go before people should be assuming he's going to resemble a major league quality starter for any extended period of time.
  17. 88 wins is the lowest amount a team has gotten through with as a wild card since they started sending two from each league. That would require the Twins going 27-13 the rest of the way. Anybody think that's happening? Cotts is an improvement over Duensing (if that's even who they plan on replacing) but this team isn't playing nearly.700 baseball for 40 games.
  18. They'd do best to go find a couple competent relievers. I can barely stand to watch the late innings this year.
  19. ERA north of 8 so far. Less than 10 innings but not good, at least not yet.
  20. I think in the past there's been a thread where each of the picks are listed with what they signed for, if at all. Is that still a thing and I just can't find it?
