  1. Aaron Hicks (7/27) .290 BA, .398 OBP, .515 SLG, .913 OPS, also injured til mid-august. Not that the twins would not take this right now. but SHOCKINGLY! coming back down to career norms quick.
  2. Just gonna repost this from a week ago
  3. it's weird, I forget May is even on the team sometimes. Makes me feel better about the outlook for next year.
  4. Don't think you have a whole lot to worry about here....
  5. Great minds!
  6. Well, shouldn't have to give up much for half a season of that at least.
  7. I guess I still have the stomach for the long game a bit until I can at least squint and see a team with a real chance. As for this one, if we're all being honest, it isn't there yet and all the Marco Estrada's in the world aren't going to get them there. I'm tired of watching them lose but perpetual 1st round playoff exits was worse, in a way.
  8. I get they have an albeit beaten down fanbase to consider. I just wish sometimes it was a video game I could do whatever I wanted with. Would totally fleece the Mets.
  9. I think, depending on what they could get back, it could be done while making them only marginally worse! Rogers can close, if they get a close starting prospect back he can take Santanas spot, and adding 2 or 3 top 100 types gets them close to having a top tier system again. Just think a bubble team like this should stay open minded. If the only thing outta the current crop that really ends up working out is Sano, they're gonna be starting all over again before too long.
  10. I like the idea of cashing in on Kintzler and especially Santana.....because they've been good! But it's a tough racket and good is ephemeral for guys with their profile. There's still teams out there that haven't figured that out yet, or just don't care (hello Angels, hello Dbacks, braves? Mets?). They're both controllable but not guys you can expect when Sano, Kepler, (hopefully) Buxton hit their stride. Could probably get some pieces back that would be though. I think a top 50 and maybe a low top 100 for Santana considering he's signed reasonably for a couple more years could be had. Maybe a low 100 type for Kintzler. Market doesn't seem like itd be great for Dozier at the moment so maybe hold onto him for now. I gurantee if they could get a good prospect starter who's close back we'd all rather be watching that than say Gibson anyway, regardless of the results. Basically what I'm saying is let's cut Gibson.....oops! There we go with the negging again!
  11. How bout trade kintzler and let Rogers close. Be nice to be on the other side of that whole Capps thing this time. I will eat my shoe if he keeps this up next year.
  12. Could just be for the rest of the wknd til Mauer is back after the break with some combo of Kepler and Vargas at first? Been a lotta up and down this year.
  13. Uffda
  14. That curve ball defies physics and the four seamer is devastating when he controls it. He absolutely has top 30 potential and he's easily top 50 now. You've all gotten too used to sad twins pitching. This is the best looking thing since 2006 Liriano here. Far better stuff than Garza ever showed.
  15. Well, none of the other 29 teams wanted him. It's sort of like getting picked last for the kickball game, isn't it?
  16. Belisle should keep his crappy games to himself.
  17. Did we watch the same game? He walked like 14 guys and didn't even make it out of the 5th.
  18. I would take that bet
  19. Seen it mentioned on the boards before, but just to reiterate: Eric A Longenhagen: Blayne Enlow, RHP, St. Amat HS (LA) 1:09 Eric A Longenhagen: #33 overall on my board, chance for plus fastball and curveball, had one of the better max curveball spin rates measured on the showcase circuit (2700+ rpm)
  20. Noticed all of the top 6 picks were in the BA top 100, so their draft looks better by that measure.
  21. For all you complaining about the Twins outsmarting themselves, them and the Red Sox are the only teams so far to stick exclusively to ranked players with each pick. Go take a look at the Braves draft so far and ask yourself how you'd feel about that one!
  22. https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/undrafted There's still some low 1st round/high second round level talent available, although at this point I'm not encouraged.
