  1. the stewart pick is not a good comp. if you lòk back on the draft there was no one else to pick at #4. it just was t a good draft0
  2. Well done. Nice read. It will be interesting to see if you are right about the one month time for the new guys to show.
  3. I am sure Mauer would have been ripped for sitting out. Well, he gets attacked no matter what he does. Wanting to play should not be one of the reasons however.
  4. I know that and I fully appreciate what you did. I "liked" it as soon as I saw it. It got me started thinking of other ways that the list might be looked at. In no way was it meant to be a criticism of your effort. Thanks for the list and the idea.
  5. Maybe this should be tweaked a little .... it makes guys in the lower half almost invisible. If you have 5 prospects at say 85, 87,90, 92 and 98 your total is 52. So a team with 1 guy ranked 48th has a better list?
  6. Beresford just keeps hitting over .300. There should be a place for him somewhere!
  7. Kepler is destroying the Southern League. The Twins have not had a prospect dominate in a level this high since Joe Mauer. He leads in avg., slugging, OBP and OPS. By significant margins too. He should not be last in the list of potential starters next year. His numbers at AA are better than all of the others. Even higher than Buxton at Cedar Rapids. Kepler needs to be on the roster next year.
  8. I think the best players should be on the major league roster as long as there is a chance to make the playoffs. Sorry Rochester and Chattanooga, but you have to make a run for it when you get the chance. Buxton, Berrios and Kepler would help the major league team win. Once you are in the playoffs, anything can happen. The Twins have been in the World Series only three times in over 50 years. 45 games to play....get your best guys on the field and go for it. One streak is all they need.
  9. Kepler leads the league in average, OBP and OPS Why trade HIM?
  10. The Twins have a top ranked minor league system, lost 90+ forever and have NO rookies on the roster....
  11. Rosters also for the Red Wings, Miracle and the Kernels
  12. I went to the Chattanooga Lookout website to check on some dates, since I will be passing through this summer and I stumbled upon their complete roster. http://www.milb.com/roster/index.jsp?sid=t498 I did not know it was decided already, although I suppose it is subject to change. Nice team to watch.
  13. C'mon Nick! I'm reading the same thing here that I am reading in the Trib. Show us the Twins Daily different stuff
  14. Did anyobdy see the list of 800 players ranked by I think it was MLB. http://m.mlb.com/fantasy/preview/y2015 The Twins highest ranked guy was Dozier, way down the list. What was significant to me is that Joe Mauer was the 9th highest ranked player ON HIS TEAM. Dozier, Perkins, Hughes, The Santanas, Vargas, Arcia and Hunter were all ranked above him. Not sure if this means the Twins are better or Mauer has really slipped in the minds of the national media...
  15. I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve
  16. Perhaps that was sarcasm? I agree with Seth on both points. It sounds bad, but we don't have all the info.
  17. wow that comment seems not necessary. If someone does not believe their ideas are correct, why would they espouse them in public? Passion is not a negative quality. Not listening to others ideas is, and I have sensed no reluctance to do that by this writer.
  18. Why would Burdi wait til 2017 or 2018? He will be 22 next year with 3 yrs of college experience. He should be in AA and AAA next year, and in the Twins bullpen by Sept.of 2015 ...or sooner
  19. So he is too injured for the futures game, yet well enough to pitch for the Red Wings the same day. He must be coming up if he is OK with that deal.
  20. I am reading your entertaining 5 points while sitting on my balcony in Beirut Lebanon, sipping a glass of the delicious local wine. It's not really war torn, but there are few Twins fans ... bout the same number as the number of suicide bombers. But absolutely no termites.
  21. Does not really matter if those three have pitched better than Meyer. He still has the much higher ceiling. In the end, Meyer will be the force in the rotation. He should get started on that as soon as possible. He is 24.
  22. You have to feel good about the future of Twins pitching. Alex Meyer isn't even on this list. Hughes and Gibson seem set for the next 5 or 6 years in the rotation. May and Meyer should be there to stay soon. Berrios is only a year away at this rate.... if he finishes at Double AA this year. Johnson /Gilmartin/Diamond are great backups/spot starters, Stewart is a year behind Berrios... Dare we say the pitching rich Minnesota Twins???
  23. Nice article. It's amazing how well someone can follow Twins Minor league teams through Twin's daily. Tons of great stuff every day.
  24. Just read a fantasy projection of the top 60 pitchers in baseball.....nary a Twin to be found.... Pretty tough to compete when ALL of your pichers are in the bottom half of the league. So all this talk about a fifth starter seems pretty useless How long will it be til the Twins have a guy ranked in the top 30? Just one pitcher ranked better thanONE other teams best?
