  1. Hicks has potential tools that Presley can't match. I think if he hadn't started out 1 - 50, things would have been much different. Let him play. He should be in the Twins outfield for the next decade. He is Ben Revere in the field but with a cannon arm.
  2. Not really Carew was a rookie in 1967 Killebrew and Oliva were gone before he got great. He was pretty much of a one man show in the Seventies...
  3. So worley is in "The Best Shape of His Life" ?
  4. Many of those pitchers are in their mid to late twenties... the kid is doing well
  5. I believe that the article misses the fact that Hicks did rebound in AAA eventually and was one of the Wings top players heading into the playoffs. He should be expected to be at the top of the mix for the center field job.
  6. only got 16 on the trades quiz
  7. I agree that 80 - 100 more at bats for Mauer is a good thing. This is a good move. Now ...Number 1 story? Bet its Gardenhire rehire...
  8. Sorry I'm A big Zen Fan. Great book I reread it every year. It really helps my teaching. The Twins needed to change. They are changing.....
  9. You are right. That makes 10 roster spots to prospects in less than 2 years. I guess you could not go faster than that. By the way, did you mean Rosario and Buxton in early August? Sano might be a big enough guy to need two debuts tho...
  10. so who's left? Top 5 Buxton, Sano, Meyer, Stewart, and Rosario Next 5 Kepler, Walker, Thorpe, Berrios ,Polanco Good group , but not a lot of help for 2014 Only 3 who have played as high as AA. And although they are top 5, I'm not sure that anybody thinks Sano Meyer and Rosario should all start with the Twins in April.
  11. You won't take my money. Paypal won't let me use a lebanon based credit card..... can't I pay without Paypal?
  12. Rosario has an OBP of .333 which is less than his average .348. He is 8 for 23 .348 avg, he must be 8 for 24 .333 with a sacrifice somewhere. Weird situation and shows how SMALL these sample sizes are ...and how we need to wait to evaluate....
  13. What I don't understand is why the players are supporting Gardy while he is quickly pointing the finger right at them. He says they are the problem, not him. Do they not get that they will be replaced according to Gardy and Ryan? Or is it only the "safe" players who support him? And if that's the case, what value does that support have?
  14. This is the same team as 2013, unless you include Presley as a big improvement. How depressing.
  15. amazing AA next year and Twins roster in sept
  16. Didn't Ryan trade both Span and Revere LAST off season?
  17. Nice report. A fun read and interesting take. I would enjoy a comparable Kernels report as well. I like these kind of articles on Twins Daily. Much better to read than the endless sniping on the forum section.
  18. Why do they have to learn to pitch when they are gassed? That's why you have a bullpen. You should never have a gassed pitcher on the mound.
  19. Great E-town video. It will be a lot more fun to follow those guys after seeing it. They are young, but there seems to be a lot of pitching on that team.
  20. Let's face it. Morneau has been gone since 2010
  21. Molitor was a great player no argument at all but he has never managed anywhere. Has he ever been a coach at any level? There has to be more to the job than being a Hall of Famer. How would he manage pitchers? 100 pitch limit? What would he do different than Gardenhire?
  22. The Twins won't get a pick for Morneau. In order to get a pick, they would have to offer him at least 15 million. This has been pointed out several times on these boards. He will not turn down 15 mill and so the net result will be the same situation as we have now, only one year later. Given that scenario, instead trade him for pitching now and get him back for 10 mill or less next year.
  23. Question it all you like. But how long will the Twins be able to take credit for the Sano signing? Pat was right. They do have money and they do have one of the largest pool amounts. Why not go large and get these two pitchers? They like Tseng according to all reports. So now is the time to outbid the Cubs. And Gonzales has no limit as to what can be offered. We all know how rare it is to get a shot at a number 1 starter. Commit 10 million a year 40 mill for 4 or more. That's what they spent on Correia and Pelfrey. They have the money. They HAVE to take a chance to get pitching.
  24. Any video link to Buxton's inside the park homerun?
  25. In this list of 52, there are 23 starting pitchers, 6 relievers, 7 middle infielders, 4 corner infielders, 4 catchers and 8 outfielders. And you can see a big league future for almost every one of them. What this shows is there really isn't a position of need in the system. Everything is covered. So the Twins definitely should take the best player available no matter who it is.
