  1. Do not DFA a catcher
  2. Love the Calculus formulas. My students have a Calc final next week. I will send them to Twins Daily for their revision work. Not many people in Lebanon actually read this site daily. The data analysis stuff is just what my students need to see. You actually CAN use this stuff in the real world.
  3. Nice work with correlation coefficients. So how do you not give up hits? How does the bats missed data relate to this discussion? If teams are not getting good contact, maybe there are less hits. That is a little different than strikeouts. Is your spread sheet available ?
  4. I don't like the manager showing up his players in public like that. Hicks is a rookie. He is going to make mistakes. Having the manager blow up like that in the dugout is not good. The Twins are going to have quite a few young guys in the lineup the next few years. I have always been a Gardy supporter. But maybe he is not the guy to lead this next wave of young players. Yes they are pros. But they are not going to play like ten year vets. They will do things like that goofy celebration that cost Harrison a grand slam at Cedar rapids. But it was fun to watch those kids enjoying winning. I kind of liked the flip too. It IS a game after all. Does Gardy expect Hicks to perform better after he reacted like that? Would anybody?
  5. Still Early still April And it has been cold! I am not sure we can count on anything that is happening in April as a harbinger of things to come. H was swinging well in warm Florida, Canadian or no
  6. I will be drinking some 961 Lager here in Beirut at the same time. 961is the international code for Lebanon.Keep up the great work Twins Daily I feel like I am home when I read these pages every day
  7. 0^0 is not the same as 0*0 and for the record, I think MI production will be improved both in the field and at the bat.
  8. These are kind of negative .... I thought the point was they are three very fast center fielders all playing at the same time...that's a good thing isn't it?
  9. well Brush Up your Shakespeare and enjoy Kiss Me Kate There might be a few more ballgames this season That's the best part of baseball. From now til October there is a game every day
  10. On another note.... Mike Berardino looks like a real pro addition to the Pioneer Press. The Twins have great coverage guys this year.[h=2][/h]
  11. Thanks for the link. I have been watching this page..... pretty good starters at New Britain
  12. Wait where did the projected lineups of all affiliates get posted? I must have missed it....
  13. I think after the surgery, Liriano had to change the way he threw the slider. It was the motion causing the arm problem Has Gibson had to make any mechanical adjustments?
  14. I agree with #5. Why not hope? If the Twins allow 100 less runs ...doable...score 50 more runs I think with Morneau and Parmalee improving.. doable.. then they will be close to 500 and 80 or so wins. The Twins won the Series with 85 wins in 1987. So why not hope? Its much more fun.
  15. I now. The future is ours if with old nurse. No way the Twins should give up #41 for a one year guy. Play Hicks and leave him in the outfield for ten years
  16. Got my e-book yesterday. Good stuff. Read it during a faculty meeting. Finally, an hour not wasted at one of those things....
  17. Looking forward to the E-book version I live in Lebanon, and shipping is tricky. I'm sure the book will be well worth the price.
  18. I will attend a game this year if I can make it back to Minnesota. I also used to go to the Met and enjoyed watching every Rod Carew at bat, no matter the score. The really nice thing about baseball is that the home team can win at any time, no matter how badly they are playing and how talented the opponent. You can always feel good in the short term. I think the Twins are going to be very good in a few years. Many many good players are on the way. They will need quite a few players to have come back years to be competitive in 2013. But I will be in the stands when they play the Royals in July, and I will be hoping for a win and enjoying the spectacle if they lose. I have never had a bad time at a ballpark.
  19. The top 12 on this list could all be All-Stars. Things are going to get very fun at target field.
  20. no Parmelee?
  21. That is such a good point about it not mattering if theTwins saved money on Willingham and Doumit. If you don't turn the saved money into more help for the ballclub, it's just money in Pohlad's pocket. Nice for him in the short run, but how much did all those empty seats at the end of the season cost? I love baseball win or lose, but how much more money and just plain fun happens when the team wins?
  22. Why should Blackburn walk away from the money? He earned it based on past performances. Nishi wants to play in Japan. Now he can. He is not retiring like Meche and the others mentioned. He is going to see if he can make more money somewhere else. To imply Blackburn is without honor seems to be pretty silly and completely unwarranted.
  23. Wrist is hurt let him rehab at New Britain They love him and Colabello can get some swings for Rochester who started Holliman at first. He obviously does not want to sit down
