  1. Well the title of this thread is spot on. Holy cow people, it's one game. Relax.
  2. Suzuki didn't bunt, he grounded out to the 3rd baseman.
  3. Along with another 2 hits today, he made a nice bare hand pick and threw out a speedy runner while playing third base. He's looking good, hopefully it carries over to the regular season.
  4. Another good outing for Milone. That's nice to see. Hopefully it will carry over to the regular season.
  5. He still can't recognize/hit a major league breaking pitch. Until that changes, that's all he's going to see. I say his OPS will be under .700 for most of the season. Hope I'm wrong.
  6. This will happen soon enough. Pitchers will adjust and then we will see how quickly Sano can make counter adjustments.
  7. A: Based on what? B: Based on what? C: that's a perfect example of what people call injury prone, And if he's still having trouble 4 years from now, he's a bust, period.
  8. Milone is making 4.5 million this year. He's a bargain at that price
  9. Santana is a better defender at SS? Did you watch any games last year? He was horrible there, and I like the guy. And Santana didn't even play 2nd base last year, how do you know he's better than Nunez there?
  10. I would hope the leash is a little shorter than that for Nolasco. 6-8 starts and then if he is still bad admit you were wrong and move on.
  11. So, let's hear it. Who's to blame?
  12. Well, that's realistic.....
  13. What would be the point of replacing him with a free agent that gives you equal value that would cost more? And the question should is he one of the best 5 starters on the team, period. IMO, there is a very good chance that he's better than Nolasco or even Hughes. If that's the case he should start, but contracts and egos will never let that happen.
  14. Because he doesn't throw 95+. It's wrong, but that's it in a nutshell.
  15. yeah, Hughes, Santana and Nolasco are such sure things........
  16. Why do we need to "hide" Plouffe's arm? There is nothing wrong with it.
  17. The whole premise of this thread is dumb. Neither player has played a single game for their new team, and won't for several months. How can something get worse, when nothing has happened yet?
  18. I doubt very much that he will end up being better than Willie Mays. Mays had 1 season where he struck out more than 100 times, Trout already has 4. Mays had 338 stolen bases. Trout has 113 but has basically stopped trying to steal. Both were/are great defenders. Mays had a CAREER OPS of .941. Trout is at .956 in the prime of his career, that is bound to go down as he ages, IMO. If he stays healthy, Trout could be a top 10 all- time player.
  19. Not sure which Robinson you are talking about, but Shane signed with the Indians.
  20. There is no way they will let Suzuki's option vest. They will run Fryer, Hermann, whatever warm body they can find out there to make sure it doesn't happen.
  21. We will have to agree to disagree I guess. I think Hughes' 2014 season was the exception, not the rule. Pretty much all his other seasons have been nothing special, if you ask me.
  22. I think Gibson has a higher ceiling than Hughes has at this point. Unless Hughes regains the velocity he lost this year, throwing a 90-91 mph cutter 80% of the time is not going to be very successful IMO. I found it a little irritating that despite Neal Allen wanting him to throw more change ups, he seemed to abandon that pretty quickly. If he's only capable of throwing 90-91, a changeup could be one the thing that prolongs his career.
  23. Why the hell does everyone want to trade Milone? He will still be cheap next year, and he won't get a piece that we need anyway (SS, catcher) in a trade. Dump Nolasco or even Hughes to the pen if need be. He should be in the starting rotation next year. Too bad we can't clone his brain into a few of the other guys.
  24. Exactly. Pelfrey will be history in 2 months. We need to find out what we have in May as a starter.
  25. Who gives a crap what Pelfrey wants? Put May back in the rotation and move him to the pen. He has turned into the pumpkin a lot of people predicted he would. If he gets pissy about it, DFA him. He has no trade value.
