They will have E Santana and Sano for the first half that didn't this year. Buxton will also probably be there for the first half. It be Hughes alternating "good" year. ( just kidding on that one). Players like Schafer and Robinson will have been replaced by players like Rosario and Hicks. Berrios has a good chance to make the rotation. Lots of reasons to think the team will be better next year.
This whole argument comes down to if you think this year is going to be the best chance for the Twins to make the playoffs/win a championship in the next 4-5 years. I don't, so I don't want to make a trade like this.
Found it. Down 5-0 in the 8th. Brian Harper hit a 3 run homer and Twins won 8-6. I remember that game because it just felt like it was an omen that the Twins weren't going to fold against the defending AL champs. https://coffeyvillewhirlwind.wordpress.com/2009/01/31/1991-game-105-minnesota-twins-61-43-oakland-as-58-46/
OK, I'm old and my memory isn't the greatest but I seem to remember a huge comeback against the A's in 91 that was sorta like this. Brian Harper had a big hit in that game I think.
