  1. according to ESPN by WAR, Suzuki isn't in the top 40 in the MLB, and is number 33 in AL only
  2. Don't trade Arcia now, best return is a reliever of the same quality already in Rochester. If Arcia gets his poop in a group, he's either a valuable contributor or trade chip. Either way patience will payoff as he still has options. Depth isn't a bad thing right now. That being said, if the right trade came along later in the season, I wouldn't be opposed
  3. winner of the Internet!
  4. Slow game when the TV color guy describes the catcher returning the ball to the pitcher
  5. its not my fault you cheer for the backhawks
  6. i don't care about the Wild, and I live in Illinois' playground, but still BOO!
  7. Why in the Heck is Thompson on the roster when he can't see the signs? Get vision correction surgery or glasses, or you've proven you don't want it enough
  8. i think DanSan going to triple A was a dead giveaway. Rosario wasn't trusted, DanSan would ride the pine in case Escobar was "needed" in left field.
  9. i don't think it's possible for a player with zero major league experience be better than a top 10 major league player
  10. id take that if he can continue to field the way he has
  11. precautionary after only pitching 78 innings? 5.2 Bb/9 in 2015 4.4 BB/9 in 2014, compared to 3.4 in 2012-13
  12. I'd like to see those two replaced with Achter and Polanco
  13. Thanks Mat! I really enjoy reading your articles. To go along w/ Chitown, you do a great job bringing a very personal voice to a subject I am very interested in, but also very removed.
  14. its not the two games, many of the things mentioned above have been weeks in the making, even in the winning tear they were on.
  15. I hate the Tigers almost as much as I hate the White Sox!
  16. i have to go with, instead of trying to deke the runner, he should have put himself in a better position to play the ball and make a good throw to the cutoff man. The odds of making the catch were slim, but the risk/reward on the deke was by failing to make the sure play, he guaranteed the run scored. If he made the sure play, he might have held pedroia to third or Santana might have gunned him down at home.
  17. OPS (OBP plus Slugging%) is the quick and dirty stat that has the highest correlation to runs scored. Runs scored and RBI are both very dependent on your teammates unless you are Barry Bonds. OPS measures what an individual player has control over.
  18. i don't want to call him a "hero", because "What's a hero anyways?" But some times there's a man, and I'm talking about The Dude here, who's just the right man for the time.
  19. i don't know why it has to be either/or. I think this team can improve for this season without moving pieces that will necessarily impact the future too much. the bullpen needs to be improved badly and I think it can be done mostly internally, just DFAing Stauffer would help. DH needs to be improved badly, but I think could be done with a rotation of Hunter Arcia and Pinto. Catcher needs to be improved, and I think the afforementioned Pinto platooning w/ Suzuki could do it, or possibly a trade could be worked out.
