  1. Per Doogoe: Twins kicking the tires on 3B https://mobile.twitter.com/DWolfsonKSTP/status/1198658195394310146 I think Donaldson would be great, if his signing didnt stop them from a big starting pitcher acquisition.
  2. I bet he throws a wicked knuckleball
  3. I can’t believe this didn’t happen years ago. If I can get the Twins Ala cart, I will happily pay for it.
  4. https://www.mlb.com/twins/team/front-office Here’s the FO directory it’s about 250 people. Non- player Labor isn’t the major expense of operations. Operating the field is. Power, renovations, etc. Also, The Minnesota Twins are a privately held company not held accountable to GAAP or the SEC. 16 mil is an estimate put out by a third party or the Twins. Further, the Pohlad companies owns part of Fox Sports North. Attributing profits to the Twins and to the Pohlads as a result of the Twins are different things. All this to say, player personnel at 50% +/- 5% of revenue seems like there’s still some significant profit to be had. We don’t know the costs or the full revenue picture. I’m still sticking with around 140
  5. https://www.motortrend.com/news/tesla-cybertruck-rivian-r1t-compared-data-specs/
  6. they claim 400 miles, seems pretty competitive
  7. we are spoiled at Twins Daily, aren’t we?
  8. park and league adjust XFIP- Price 82, Gibson 83. Why give up prospects to buy low on Kyle Gibson or a bag of balls and a ginormous contract for Kyle Gibson when you can just sign him off the street for a very reasonable contract?
  9. it had to be a consumer truck. Electricity/battery powered freight works really well in the hub and spoke model. Electric Trains travel between rain/intermodal transit stations and electric tractor/trailers work routes always ending back at the intermodal hub. construction with the ultra-small freight being hauled has to operate in many job sites where power is electric supplied by gas generators. Setting up a solar array on a jobsite seems cumbersome, even if the toque put off on the electric motor can tow just about anything. From a consumer standpoint, it's a bit too science fiction styled for my taste, but I like the idea. I want to buy a truck, but don't want to consume the fossil fuels to get the torque/cargo/size that I want for my hobbies and commute. I just wish it didn't look like the DeLorean
  10. I second John’s question and follow it up with: How’s his mobility another year removed from having a metal rod inserted into his leg and his foot more fully healed? Sure, he may never be a plus defender at third, but with better health, maybe he can be good enough.
  11. Better call Mama! Time for more Gellner in the booth! I am with you on the Morneau/Gellner combo on the TV broadcast. Her calls on those games we’re great! I have two follow ups that weren’t exactly approached, but I think are relevant. 1) In a sport that is dropping in viewership and ticket sales, how can the MLB not prioritize the market opportunity to capture a larger portion of 50% of the human race? Tapping into women as a market segment has massive dollars out there just waiting to be taken advantage of. 2) reading this series of articles and internalizing the message, I come to my own role. Men as advocates. Of course women don’t “need” our voice, but when we raise our voices together we can bring a spot light to injustice. Thank you TCAnelle for your excellent works!
  12. It’s good to see the team begin taking steps in the right direction, but I wish it would be faster. Innovation is spurred by diverse points of view. Time to increase the talent pool.
  13. Great article! I can’t wait for part 2 and 3. I was not aware of this program. I hope when my daughter gets old enough, the Twins still do this program and she might be fortunate enough to do the same.
  14. I got Prime for the freight. I watch Prime the most. Originals I really like The Expanse Jack Ryan Man In The High Castle Fleabag Catastrophe The Tick Also get Thursday Night Football It pretty much replaces Netflix for the “watch a cruddy movie on a whim” for me.
  15. with the new 26th man and limit to 13 pitchers, the extra man for many teams might be a blankenhorn type.
  16. I didn’t perform the moderation and didn’t see the post and wouldn’t have the context. We frequently send a PM with a moderation action giving you the reason. Did you get one?
  17. this is like 4-5 posts 1) But SOME of them are still hypocrites. -yup, sure am, we all can be. Does the nature of the hypocrisy violate the comment policy? 2) Humorously suggesting that trading Nelson Cruz would be a horrible idea is disrespectful, yet dehumanizing people by scoring points from their deaths is all fun and games. - these are not comparable. Humorously suggesting trading Nelson Cruz can be perfectly in bounds, it all depends on how you do it. The Celebrity Death Pool also depends on how you do it. The thread itself isn’t against the comment policy. 3) I agree with AZTwin. - good post, you can agree or disagree with whomever, it’s how you post that determines if there’s an issue. 4) There is an agenda. - From the mods? Absolutely there is an agenda! We post it openly and refer posters to it frequently. - Respect for others is expected in everything we write, and personal attacks are not allowed. - Do not be disruptive through trolling, flame-baiting, and thread-jacking. - A minimal level of grammar and spell-checking is required. - Avoid inappropriate language. - Do not copy entire stories from elsewhere on the internet. - Commercial spam will be deleted on sight and the poster will be banned. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/8228-twins-daily-comment-policy/
  18. I had vue on my appletv and iPhone. I didn’t need my PS hardware to use it. As far as I could tell, it wasnt strictly Sony media like D+ is strictly Disney. They may have wanted to be less tied to the Sony publishing. I cancelled vue for much the same reason I cut the cord. I didn’t use it enough.

  20. We moderate as a team here at TD, and strive for consistency where ever possible. as long as we discuss the OP and adhere to the comment policy by first and foremost respectful of each other, I think the mod team may be inclined to let this thread continue. Please note, discussing moderation in a baseball thread is considered thread jacking. Keep to the OP. http://twinsdaily.com/topic/8228-twins-daily-comment-policy/?do=findComment&comment=420912
  21. care to start a new thread? TD Book Club perhaps?
  22. I would value Duran more. Rooker? Probably not. Corner outfielders are more fungible than 4th starters.
  23. I like Seth’s logic. I’ll go 135-139. I don’t think they break the 140 threshold. I could envision a scenario where they sign a big fish starter and offload some salary to get back under 140.
  24. Being right isn’t the point. There is no “winning” when we aren’t respectful of each other. Lets try flipping the discussion around: Why was my post moderated? Why didn’t I get communication directly? We can discuss these things without feeling defensive and help resolve an issue of missed communication or improperly set notifications. Now go back to the OP. How does calling a moderator a liar foster an open and honest discussion about why a post was moderated? How do you personally respond when you are feeling attacked? Do you get defensive? Put up your guards? Fight back? How does that further the discussion? How is that going to be addressed? It’s not. We win with respect. We further the debate with respect.
