  1. the strike zone was as narrow as the “Cave Connection” that links together the famous Lumiang and Sumaguing Cave https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g304053-d1656371-Reviews-Lumiang_Cave-Sagada_Mountain_Province_Cordillera_Region_Luzon.html
  2. they got someone to take 7.5 mil of Hughes’ salary. I’m thrilled he’s not on the roster anymore, but I’m pretty luke warm on how they did it. Only two picks today
  3. it doesn’t hurt to dream, and with the potential of both Dozier and Mauer (and Escobar) departing in the offseason, plenty of room
  4. hes good at charging in on a ball. His lateral movement is a bit limited. He’s fine fielding wise, so if he can reach his potential hitting, he’ll be a monster.
  5. Lots of comps of Rosario to Pucket, and I’m a fan. I wondered if he turned the corner last year and I feel pretty confident HE DID! Eddie! Eddie! Eddie!
  6. Scored 7 runs or more, 4 of the last 5 games. Sano has knocked in 10 of 32 runs scored, with Dozier crossing the plate 8 times. Escobar and Rosario have been the other major contributors to the scoring improvement lately. Looks like 3-4-5 should be Sano, Rosario, Escobar (order tbd)... another hitter to be on base at the top of the order and Grossman at the bottom would improve further. Looks like they miss Mauer, but maybe Kepler and his 330 obp in the lead off or second spot could improve further...
  7. broken toes take a very long time to heal. Last time I broke toes it took 6 months before I walked without a limp. Nothing to do about it, but try to minimize aggravating movements. I didn’t take any time off of work, and at the time, I walk 20,000 to 30,000 steps per work day. It was painful, I can’t imagine what it’s been like for Buck...
  8. Romero has been their best pitcher. Are you really going to demote him? Over the next 30 days, odds are someone is going to become hurt or ineffective. It'll probably sort itself out. More likely May will come off the DL first. I assume he'll get optioned to AAA. If everyone stays healthy and effective through June, there's always a trade. I'd try a 6 man rotation until the end of July and swing a trade for a Catcher or 4th outfielder.
  9. i grilled up a couple ribeyes, grilled corn on the cob and tossed a caprese salad. My wife and daughter turned their noses up, but my son (one year old and 8 total teeth) and I, ate like kings
  10. Twins are 3 and 10 in one run games, largely because they’ve struggled to score. They could just as easily be 7 and 6 in one run games and be two games over 500 and in first place. There’s a lot of baseball left to play
  11. Hit the nail on the head Nick. This is what keeps me optimistic about winning the division. If the pitching stays healthy, Polanco and Mauer should reinforce the batters soon, and the team we were expecting to watch in March comes to fruition in June.
  12. so a guy who can’t field and can’t hit is on the team why?
  13. If you count Grossman as an outfielder, there’s 5 on the Active Roster, and Taylor Rogers and Matt Magill could both be improved upon. Personally, Rogers and Grossman are my choices to make room, barring injury
  14. absolutely, but the process of making your case and validating it has created a defacto wage scale. Players with age, experience and performance indicators in these parameters make x, a year later make y, and so on. The team here at TD has been locked in for years.
  15. agreed entirely. But man the Ks.... he could do wonders for his stock value by choking up a bit on two strikes.
  16. That was a reassuring performance by LL. One walk, one hbp sure helps my confidence that Lynn is able to make the adjustments to get the ball over the plate effectively (not get hammered)
  17. Seems not unlikely that the Twins were no longer able to recoup any of his salary via insurance. Per the reference, not sure validity but it’s written wel... Policies generally have 3 year periods, not necessarily the whole contract. If this is the case, if an insurance policy was taken out on Hughes’ contract, it would have come due by now. After two TOS surgeries no way is any insurer covering him further. https://metsmerizedonline.com/2013/02/understanding-the-business-of-baseball-insurance-on-player-contracts.html/
  18. this, Phil’s a stand up guy who earned his money. I’m glad he got it, because it would have just lined JPs pocket otherwise. Glad Falvine has the courage to part ways. I’m sure these have been difficult conversations with Pohlad and Hughes.
  19. you forgot the bullpen. Really shallow, and no one true ‘fireman’. Reed is close. All in all, the whole bullpen lets way too many inherited runners score.
