  1. The part that got me, is when he said, I dont want to talk about myself, but when you think you are a number #1 or want to be a number 1 , you want to face the best..........That is true, but could have been said without injecting or saying "I was a #1"
  2. I dont care for Jack Morris, he is so arrogant, and maybe he can be, but I still dont like it.
  3. I took it as, they didnt want to 4 or 5 members of the bullpen, but that is what they are going to do anyway. Because they have no pitchers that pitch more than 2 innings, other than maybe Graham.
  4. Well if it is any consolation, those HR were not hanging pitches, Toronto is just a HR hitting team, bigtime.
  5. I thought the Twins didnt want a bullpen game, leave Duffey in to pitch 90 to 100 pitches, game is already lost pretty much and good experience for him, or maybe they think he is too fragile. LOL
  6. Good title, just keep the whiners here, and I will keep watching with the knowledge that this wasnt going to be our yr anyway, unless we were going to trade, Buxton, Sano , for Hamels or Price and Tulowitzki, but yea, i know people think we could trade Duffey and Rogers and Hu for Hamels, and some people would think that we gave up to much...........Am i frustrated? Yes.......SHould we have made a better trade, i was thinking we might.........but so many think they would make a better GM have no idea what is involved, just because you want a player for the players you want to trade for them, doesnt mean the other team would do it. I could be a great GM, trade Plouffe for Correa , Mauer for Bryant, Gonsalves and Hu for Price, some people think it is how you do it, I make these outrageous trade proposals, because some people think we can get something for nothing and give up nothing for something........I am frustrated by the team, but more frustrated by most of the mass for the hysteria being spewed.........We may not make the playoffs, but if we were to go .500 rest of yr, in my mind it would be a successful yr........I dont even read most of the forums anymore ,especially after reading the titles, i already know what is being said.........END OF RANT!!!! PS: I mostly read Minor league talk now.
  7. I like these, I will consider Buxton and Sano no longer prospects, and our cupboard is becoming kind of bare in my estimation, but here goes my 30: 1. Berrios, 2. Gordon, 3. Stewart, 4. Jay, 5. Kepler, 6. Polanco, 7. Gonsalves, 8. Burdi, 9.AB Walker, 10. Meyer, 11. Harrison, 12.Duffey, 13. Minier, 14. Turner, 15 Vielma, 16. Thorpe, 17. Cederoth, 18 Eades, 19. Blankenhorn, 20. Slegers, 21. Jorge, 22. Bard, 23. Chargois, 24. Melotakis, 25. Rogers, 26. Micheal, 27. Z Jones, 28. Reed, 29. Batts, 30. Navarretto................I am low on Rogers and Reed , and high on Harrison , Eades and Navarreto.
  8. They bring in a reliever who they think is good, and will help and then dont give him a chance to get out of the inning, and if you are going to replace him, try O'Rourke, super vs lefties, Duensing , meh!!
  9. I guess we will have to agree to disagree, but i do agree that Soria is better.
  10. I agree with you, and I think he overvalues his prospects too, that is part of why no trades or none of great value.
  11. I would take Jones over Hu and Tapia, he has a big time upside, Tapia is an unknown and Hu is a fringy , not particularly athletic prospect. Have you read anything on Jones????? I am as big a Twins fan and prospect follower as the next guy, but you are WAY overselling Hu compared to Jones.
  12. He had a one hitter going at that time.
  13. Can you imagine the howling if May was left in and Rodriguez hits HR, Perkins is our closer, he had a rough outing, it happens, get over it!! Id much rather have Molitor than what we previously had.........and the Twins are one of the few teams above where people thought their teams would be, i can only imagine if you were fans of those teams you wouldnt like any of the managers. And i will let Molitor take credit for the wins we were not suppose to have up to this point , if he is asked to take the blame for this loss.
  14. If the implication is that Molitor getting tossed lost us the game, that is pure nonsense, now as to whether he swung or not, i believe he did, but it was certainly close and most certain too close for the plate umpire to call........plate umpire while watching ball has a hard time telling most of the time how far the bat goes.........but it is not exactly an easy call for the corner umpires either.
  15. I am only on page 4 reading as i write this so someone maybe already corrected it, but Dozier is only $3 Mill next yr not 7.5.
  16. It was an error yes, but i dont think he panicked, he is a good catcher who made a mistake and he knew it.......he is definitely a better defensive catcher, and I hope he plays 2 days a week to keep Suzuki fresher and see if that helps Suzuki, and if we cant find someone else in the offseason............. I would be alright with Fryer competing with Suzuki for playing time next yr so we dont have to have Suzuki reach the vesting option in his contract for 2017.
  17. I know someone posted we have him thru his age 32 season, but in actuality wont it be his age 31 season, as he is 27 all yr this yr and 4 more yrs makes 31........unless it is calculated thru the calendar yr, just an observation, doesnt really change the argument much.
  18. I like when someone makes bold predictions, i occasionally do that too
  19. Well, i think we came out pretty good on both, i was worried about Perkins this yr tho, since he had some type of injury preseason, dont remember what it was............too bad we didnt get one or two yrs of options on Dozier, I like the 4 yr deal and alot of people still wanted to wait, Thank goodness we didnt..............................I would have to look back, but i dont even remember if i thought it was a good idea to extend him or not, but i do know I did think we got a good deal on the 4 yrs.........I think i was on the fence of waiting or not.
  20. Well , he is expendable, with Santana and with Polanco on the horizon, all 3 are or seem that they will be similar in production, so I think people dont care which one goes, but he is the choice for a couple of reasons, close to Arb , a little older. I personally have no feeling one way or the other if we keep him, I do like him, as long as we keep him in the infield.
  21. I dont follow the Braves as closely as you do, but I am a Braves fan also..................but other than a couple 20 yr olds, who are at least a couple yrs away, who do they have to play the position, especially if they trade Chris Johnson, who i have read they want to trade........I suppose they could move Jace Peterson there temporarily and put Peraza at 2nd??!! And I am not doubting you, i am just wondering.
  22. Gonsalves might end up being a good pitcher, but most likely his ceiling is as a #3, he is not a power pitcher, even tho his stats in Low A seem to show that, he is a 90-92 mph pitcher who will need to develop a consistently good breaking ball to even make it to the big leagues, IMO
  23. So would you rather have Alex Jacksons first year success over Gordon? Top 2 high school position players taken in the draft i believe, many think Jackson is the better prospect, and that may be true, but the stats are not backing that up, but it is really yr 1 for both of them............People we cant have a Buxton to draft every year, I think our expectations are way to high for a 1st yr high school drafted kid playing in low A when most are playing rookie league ball.
  24. Uribe is 36 yrs old, Braves want younger and controllable for 2017, Plouffe would fit that. Again, Twins wont be trading away anyone that is helping them to where they are if they are in the hunt at deadline, so this would be a better offseason trade idea.
