  1. I have to disagree about shortstop. Polanco still has defensive concerns and there is a good chance he ends up at 2B. He isn't as good as a hitter as Tulowitzki either. Danny Santana clearly needs a lot of work. After that we have Engelb Vielma at high-A who is a great fielder but doesn't hit much. Then we have Nick Gordon at low-A who is easily still a few years away. Tulowitzki is an upgrade over any of those guys while making our lineup and defense better right now. The question with Tulowitzki is how much he will be on the field. Lucroy has at least as much risk as Tulowitzki does. He is a 29 year old catcher who is having his worst season since he was 24 and is only signed through next year.
  2. I'd be willing to involve Gibson in a trade for Tulowitzki. Definitely not Gibson and Berrios. Berrios is a guy I would like to keep around, but Gibson might be turning into something before our eyes. I would be worried about trading Gibson and Berrios for Tulowitzki because I question if the Twins could have a good starting rotation without those two. If Tulowitzki stays healthy, that is an enormous upgrade to our infield and lineup as a whole.
  3. I'd rather give the job to Escobar than trade for someone right now. You could send Santana down. I'm not sure who the Twins call up in his place. Maybe Beresford to be another utility guy.
  4. I don't know what the Twins are going to do at catcher. Stuart Turner hasn't hit enough to be much more than a backup. Mitch Garver's stats look unimpressive, but he got off to an awful start. He may be our best internal bet right now. That would still be a couple year wait.
  5. I love the jerseys in the first two pictures. Definitely my favorite ones they wear. I want one so bad. I'm not a huge fan of the new jerseys, but they are acceptable to me.
  6. I don't see how it is cheapening him when it is a short term thing. I would much rather try Duffey, Rogers, Meyer, or other AAA guys in the pen before going out and trading prospects for a reliever. Trading anyone of value at AA or AAA this year for a reliever just doesn't make sense, and what kind of reliever are you going to get trading prospects below that? Obviously it depends on the trade, but I'm not in favor of trading a prospect for a relief pitcher this year.
  7. Thank you sir. Maybe I somehow missed Monday's minor league report.
  8. Do we have any idea when Kolton Kendrick will start playing?
  9. Thanks for the list. I'm a little higher on Eades but this is really his first successful season. It's interesting to see how many pitchers the Twins have that could pitch in the majors. There is a lack of top end talent that we have been over before.
  10. Nick Gordon has his avg up to .260 now. If it wasn't for a really bad May his hitting stats would look just fine.
  11. Sorry, but I'm not going to do all that just to see for myself that what the Twins have done has lowered Burdi's performance. I never stated anything to the contrary. I only said it doesn't make sense to use a video from 2012 and a video from 2015 to place blame on the Twins. It's not ignoring the obvious. It's using the information provided in the post.
  12. I'm not very interested in trading prospects for a 29 year old catcher who is having a bad year because of injury and expecting him to bounce back next year, especially Berrios. That just seems like disaster waiting to happen to me.
  13. It's hard to believe the Miracle are 11 games over .500 now. With that rotation they have to believe they have a good chance of winning every game.
  14. I don't think it's fair to compare a video from 2012 and one from spring training in 2015. As someone who hasn't seen Nick Burdi pitch in person throughout his college or professional career, for all I know he could have changed his delivery while still in college from 2012-2014. Those two videos alone aren't an indictment on the Twins pitching coaches.
  15. I hope the Twins would say no first
  16. Walker, Sano, and Kepler have all been hot for the month of June. Kepler is hitting .373 after hitting over .340 in May. Sano is putting his second month in a row together of hitting over .300. Walker has 10 homeruns in June and his 22 on the season is only 5 short of his career high in 70 games.
  17. It's actual not ridiculous at all. This is coming from a guy who is about to graduate with a degree in genetics (me).
  18. Somehow Max Kepler was left off the prospect hot list for last week. Now he is left off the Southern League all star roster? What the heck? Mat Batts hasn't skipped a beat at Fort Myers. The Miracle have a pretty good rotation down there
  19. I'm in favor of keeping him in the pen for a while. Possibly for the rest of the year if it involves being in the Twins bullpen.
  20. It seems like the Twins had bad luck in the 70s and with players associated with Arizona State
  21. Who cares? The vast majority of these guys aren't "prospects" or don't have successful 10+ year careers in MLB. The guy has already shown himself to be a good baseball player by what he is doing in AA. Clearly he has issues, but they have yet to have an effect on his production as he has moved up the ladder. I'm not sure why you are so hell bent on proving Adam Brett Walker is a bad baseball player and has no chance to make it in the majors. It's minor league baseball. It's baseball for Christ's sake. I'm not sure why we have to be so critical and analytical all the time. It completely takes the fun out of it. Let's enjoy what these guys are doing instead of constantly looking for their flaws.
  22. I'm really excited to see Kendrick play. His power is incredible
  23. Tucker would be a great pick. Bregman is a good player, but not what I'm looking for with the #6 pick. Questioning if the top pitchers can stay in the rotation before their careers even start is concerning too. I don't view Cameron as a talent that is good enough to affect the draft strategy for the rest of the rounds because of his price tag.
