  1. Frame it and call it "Ode to Dali!"
  2. Odorizzi has 11 strikeouts through 6? Wow.
  3. That was a pathetic 5th inning.
  4. But, then again, it is Twins Daily.
  5. Aaron? He's busy taking care of Danica.
  6. Berrios has been pretty efficient. 8 K's through 5 and a third and 64 pitches. Unfortunately, the Twins have allowed Kluber to be even more efficient.
  7. Berrios looks good. So does Kluber, darn it.
  8. Even I know Castro wasn't hired for his bat.
  9. Thanks! Have to start things off right!
  10. By the way, as was pointed out to me by Not Boof Bonser, I have Central Time wrong, should be an hour later. But, better early than late!
  11. Maybe I'll get up some lineups. Maybe not. Yahoo, baseball is back!
  12. Ladies and Gentlemen, let's get reeeeaaaady to rummmbbllleee! In this corner, the division challenger, the MN Twins! And, defending division champs, the Cleveland Indians! Pitching for the Twins: Jose Berrios Pitching for the Indians: Corey Kluber Play ball!
  13. The biggest weakness Sox teams have had in the past is the ability to catch the ball. Unless those issues have been addressed, the team will not progress. The White Sox undeniably have talent but I have to wonder about the coaching staff when it comes to fielding.
  14. I think the Twins are a .500 team this year.
  15. Chief is already a .....classic
  16. Going to toss out this non-sequitur, though, like the signing of Perez, it makes one go hmmmm... I was in Laughlin, NV, a couple of weeks ago. Twins were only 20 to 1 to win the Series. I believe this is well before enough money has been bet to significantly change the betting line. Last year, I picked up the Twins and they were, if memory serves, 70 to 1 or more.
  17. I remember being as young as Sano yet, I knew how to put in the effort to be good at my job. Which makes this sort of thing all the more puzzling to me because the thought of a full-time babysitter to make sure someone does their job really escapes me. I know baseball teams have done the full-time babysitter in the past, but has Sano shown that he's got the talent for that extra effort?
  18. Whether or not they did is beside the point, I think. From the outside looking in, this looks like a pattern of Sano's lackadaisical approach to baseball. The FO could very well have looked in on Sano, told Sano he needs to look after himself, and, like most people, expected Sano to take care of business. And, pardon if this comes across as a harsh replay, because it's not intended as such.
  19. Took a peek, Stewart looks to have been knocked around a bit. 3 BB and no strike-outs is a bit concerning, I think, because I believe pitchers are supposed to be ahead of hitters this early in ST. Though, again, it's early.
  20. Hey all, it's been quite the winter. We've experienced quite a bit of rain here in the Central Valley of CA. We've even had cold snaps where the temps dropped into the mid-thirties! Talk about chilly!* *Before anyone says anything, I live in MN for 20+ years.
  21. New Season and I need to warm up just a bit: Since it's early in Spring Training, not much is expected. But, as flowers and deer in the meadows of MN indicate that spring is near, so too, Spring Training games hold promise of the start of the season of the greatest sport ever invented, baseball. Play ball! Pitching for the Twins: Kohl Stewart. Pitching for the Nationals: Patrick Corbin. Lineups: Eh, Spring Training games. Maybe I'll get to it. Maybe someone will pick up the slack and get up some lineups posted.
  22. Solid signing and only two years. Good deal.
  23. According to MLB.com, Machado may have a 10 year deal, but the contract has an opt out clause at 5 years. It's my understanding the opt out clause is both team and player. Machado's contract appears to be closer to a 5 year deal with the potential to be a 10 year contract.
