    How long we gonna beat this horse????? It's over get over it! Of course you would have liked to get a better haul but Cisco's inconsistency prevented the Twins from getting more. He simply wasn't worth that much.

    Offense failed them today...ton of men LOB and 2-9 with RISP....It's so frustrating this team can go on a tear offensively for 4 games and then do nothing.

    Agree!...they all have time left on their respective contracts. I could see a smaller deal involving Carroll or even Casilla to a lesser extent.

    I've become resigned to the fact that just as Liriano "is what he is" message boards are the same way...they are what they are and that is fans who wanna believe they know everything or that they would have done this or that. They treat sprots as a XBox game or fantasy league where you can do anything you want if you just punch in a cheat code. The fact is the Twins probably got just about what they shoud/could have expected for Cisco...who knows maybe their plan is to re-sign Frankie this winter...

    They won't take that chance.....and they should'nt. Trade him by Tuesday or wait until the winter or just keep him, they have to get something for him.

    I don't think another start would have mattered either way. Frankie is what he is and you never know which Liriano you'll get from start to start and that is not what you want in any starter let alone a top end(stuff wise) starter.

    He still misses all of next season if surgery was in April or August, you just don't do surgery for ache or pain.

    Isn't it possible Liriano could've had another bad outing today and thus lowered even more his trade value, or even maybe got hurt?? then we would here that we should've traded him earlier when he was going good. The fact is there is probably no way we would be satisfied and your right we as always have no idea what was being offered by other teams we just assume it was better then this. Maybe the market for a talented but extremely enigmatic pitcher wasn't as high as we as Twins fans hoped. The bottom line is it's Liriano's fault his value wasn't s high as it should be, he gets rattled too easily on the mound when things are going south on him. He's so maddingly inconsistent that he probably scared off other suitors not willing to give up much then a couple mid level prospects.

    All of them have been MEH!....and so has Liriano for the most part until recently...is it really an upgrade for them or us??

    I don't know if it's either in most cases.....if Plouffe said he's basically been playing with it all yr and he thinks he just needs a few days then what do you do???? it's by all indications just a bone bruise. The move is backdated and we had players to fill in so really what's the big deal.. it's not like were in contention and this hurt us plus the alternative is Valencia..not great.

    BIG IF!!! for 8th inning guy maybe closer....what do you expect to get really??? He's cheap and if he indeed turns into our full time closer next yr it will be at a clearance rack price.

    I'm leaning towards maybe trading him now...doubtfull he has this kind of yr again, would need a top stater prospect though and a good middle infield prospect as well as 1 or two mid level guys preferably pitchers.

    Yeah right! ...would need onf their starters NOT named Lincecum, and even then I'm not sure.

    Seth.....Butera will NEVER get credit for anything in this or any other forum. He is considered a borderline AAA player by most. What he is is almost exactly what a backup C should be, solid defensively who works well with the pitching staff and who actually is not a black hole offensively this season. What makes it better is he's a 3rd catcher.

    Agree he's been barely avg lately.....and when is the last time he got a big hit??? They will almost certainly trade him and they should but they won't get a ton for him. He should fetch a decent prospect or two but nothing great. Revere is ready to take over full time in CF...his hitting has improved drastically and if he can draw more walks nobody will care about his noodle arm. Then we can promote Parm full time and play him in RF.

    I don't see it....the Twins will try to fix their SP(no..I don't know how) this offseason and try to contend in still a avg division next yr...the Hammer will still have alot of value next July if they fall out of it again.

    It's possible and who could blame them.....and Perk has just been.... meh! this season...his numbers are solid overall but again today he's tossing up softball type sliders when he has a 95-96 mph fastball...as you saw is pretty good cuz he K'd Moustakas on 3 pitches.

    Duensing is NOT a starter...he found his niche in the bullpen and that's where he should stay.. I know they have little choice right now but I'd rather see Blackie as the 5th starter as bad as he's been then BD...at least Duensing has value in the pen. Call Hendriks back up and let him continue to take his lumps but BD needs to be back as the situational LHP/7th inning guy he is.
