  1. I agree they would get some prospects but no real mlb players that could help them now, relievers/closers, even those of Perkins value likely won't net a starting SS/OF or starter as a previous poster suggested. He's basically costing you nothing. If he was making $12 mil per hr then yes consider trading him but he's making half that and will still have as much value a yr or two from no. Yes there is risk of injury but even then his salary risk is minimal.
  2. We'll never know if an offer was made, I'm guessing TR made some sort of run at BA but Ol Billy boy thought the Rockies had the best offer...oh well we move on.
  3. Nope! doesn't do it for me.
  4. Your right.....Will never happen and I wouldn't do it cuz I think TB wants a big pkg for him. If we were one ace away then you take a chance.
  5. I could live with that...carry a vet in Rochester to call on if need be and hope Pinto gets better defensively fast. I'm fine with signing a cheap vet for defense while Pinto gets some time in Rochester.
  6. Refresh my memory but isn't Hughes hurt alot??? Why do I remember that, maybe I'm thinking of someone else. I do know he's inconsistent but I'd take him for 1 or 2 yr cash friendly deal.
  7. Either way it's a nice problem to possibly have, but I wouldn't mess with him unless Rosario becomes too good to pass up at 2B.
  8. Again I agree but i don't see the Twins getting that much in return
  9. Agree..and I'm not sure his value is that big to a team unless they desperately need a closer...
  10. You guys have to get off the payroll aspect...ask the Dodgers, Angels, Blue Jays how it's working out for them..the Marlins last yr. it means little. The Twins are rebuilding, no need to spend, it's become a boring and somewhat useless debate.
  11. I warned you guys this place would become rube chat...people cant help themselves, thye want to be scouts, GM's and coaches.
  12. At this point I'd be suprised if Justin is not dealt by the deadline..They likely won't get much but holding onto him makes little sense as most of us expect the fade to happen here sooner or later despite them being better. The Yanks with Tex on the shelf again seem to be the best fit and Morneau fits in perfectly in Skankee Stadium, the short porch may boost his power numbers. I too would not mind a 2 yr contract in the $14 mil TOTAL range come this winter but until then it would be wise to get what they can for the former MVP...
  13. HAHA...haven't posted here in quite awhile but unreal...14 pages..really??
  14. Looks like Butera is down to AAA and Ramirez is the 5th OF....Down to 2 or 3 spots in the bullpen.
  15. Have to think Hicks and Maestro come north with Benson/Arcia playing everyday in AAA with callups at some point this season. Hicks may even be sent back down at some point with the other two getting an oppurtunity. Next yr When Justin is gone and probably Hammer then you have Hicks/Benson/Arcia/Maestro and parm at 1B. If everything falls into place that's probably what we are looking at in 2014.
  16. Jeez what else is there...LOL....ooops sorry! Of course I agree with the majority of this post.
  17. No negative comments....don't worry the thread is young!
  18. oh and I'm not sure it's Gardy's fault for the lack of starting pitching...
  19. Could care less about essentially our 3rd catcher....but I'm sure that won't stop the bitch fest that's about to unfold..commence fellas!
  20. Twins definitely need to add one more SP.... and Hope one of Hendriks/PJ/Cole give them something... Pelfry can contribute by May and Gibson is in the bigs by June.
  21. He will certainly get the chance...would not suprise me at all if he was one of the five SP's out of ST.
  22. I don't mind it...I actually kind of forgotten about him. This is the kind of contract Correia should've gotten...oh well not my money. Hope Pelfrey works out.
