  1. They both would be great fits for Fenway but I don't see it. I can see the Twins trying to move Morneau but not Mauer, not with 6 yrs left on his deall....maybe in 2 yrs if he's stays healthy which is a big if and a reason why the Twins might consider it. Thing is I don't think Mauer would waive his no-trade. He's from here, he like is it here his finace and here family are from MN, and frankly he makes a ton of money without the pressure a town like Boston would bring. Also the Sox did get Loney who is solid...anyone know his contract status as far as yrs left???
  2. I got no problem with Slama replacing Gray....maybe there is something else going on but I do not believe the Twins are afraid of ANYONE succeeding cuz it may make them look bad, that seems ridiculous in itself. I would have to think Slama will be up in Sept.
  3. This will not happen and should'nt untill they figure out the rotation...
  4. I still think Span is traded before Morneau although Span's value may be lower now with his continued injuries and why Slama over Gutierrez???
  5. Yeah those two seem to be the options, more likely Vasquez and save Hendriks for Sept....Blackies still due $5.5 mil for 2013...must be nice!
  6. I don't really like to label a pitcher with a number cuz a #1 on a team A might be a # 3 on team B but for arguments sake why can't Diamond be a top of the rotation starter for us?? I won't say ACE persay because he doesn't seem to have dominating stuff but a #2....it's possible, and he might be our #1
  7. Ok not that it matters much at this point but who replaces them... or will the Twins just wait until the offseason?? can they wait or do they have to make a move/moves??
  8. Thanks to Parker on Twitter!
  9. I think what would be dumb as hell would be overreacting to a poor rookie debut and moving a SS off SS until there is more evidence he cant play SS. Or at least until SS is filled by a better option. But then again I thought it would have been dumb as hell to overreact to 100 PAs against LHers and platoon Morneau with Danny Valencia too, so what do I know? Yes....only move Dozier to 2B IF they find a better option at SS!...hence my idea of maybe accuiring a SS this offseason. If Hammer/Justin/Span can't /won't net us a top starter then they can probably net us a starting SS.
  10. Blah, blah, blah, fire the bums! Exactly who do you think was better than Dozier when he was called up? Who is better than Dozier now? Exactly what the **** does Jim Rantz have to do with it? I agree it had more to do with lack of options then anything else and most EVERYBODY wanted Dozier on this team in April...now I realize that Nishi was the other option but that's my point. I also do not agree that his entire season so far has been a disaster. Yes he needs to improve his consistency and K/W ratio and be better defensively but he was'nt completely useless. he showed flasehes dfensively and some occasional pop. Ithink the Twins should move him to 2B and find an everyday SS via trade. Dozier still has a bright future with this team IMO and I think many would agree??
  11. Concur. I would add that going for it in 2013 is risky. But no more so than trading everything of value and aiming for 2015 or 2016. Neither strategy is guaranteed to succeed, and you might end up punting 2013 and 2014 only to be as bad or worse in the following years. You may become the Royals or Pirates(2012 notwithstanding)...anyone want that??
  12. While I won't doscount your entire post cuz I think therein lies some truth but to call the Twins "penny pinching and cheap" is false. How many "cheap" teams have payrolls near or over $100 mil??? the answer is NONE! Just because they don't go out and spend $120 mil on slightly above avg starters like Hamels or there payroll isn't on par with Boston or NY doesn't mean they are cheap. Now you can argue all day that they spend their money in the wrong places or on the wrong players but please don't label them as cheap..it's simply not true!
  13. The thing is I don't think you can get a frontline starter for Hammer...I think it would take more and most teams just don't give up pitching. So I think you hold onto him unless someone does offer you a potential #1
  14. Yes give him a shot....probably not til ST thougth although he could play winter ball at 2B somewhere.
  15. Span out with shoulder injury.
  16. 2B and RF are the big ?.....Can Parmalee learn to play well enough in RF to earn a full time spot and thus hold down a everyday spot in the lineup?? If Span is traded and Revere takes over CF he may get a shot especially if they keep Justin going into next season.
  17. You are taking a chance keeping Justin going into next yr and hoping he stays healthy to MAYBE get a good deal at the deadline. What if the Twins are contending next July??? they won't trade him then... I think he gets moved this winter... Parm needs to play and unless they trade Span(which is probable) then Ben can shift to CF and Parm can play RF everyday, might not be ideal defnsively because of his lack of experience there but Revere would cover alot of Parms ground in right CF and then you can have both Justins and Parmalee's bat in the lineup. Of course Ben would have to cover basically the whole OF with osh in left but hey if Josh, Chris and Justin combine for 85 hr's does it matter:D
  18. No thanks....just play Casilla everyday....Nishi has about a week left before he's back at AAA.
  19. IDK Seth I think one of those pitchers could be solid for us next season, doubt it Deduno cuz of his control but P.J was pitching well until his injury and I think his stuff is better then Cole's for the long run.
  20. I think that basically sums it up....it speaks more to the lack of 3B depth then anything. Valencia is already 28 so he does'nt have much of a future here.. I know nothing about the guy we received from Bosox but at least we got something for him. And although Pineda is still at GCL at the ripe old age of 21:D that's still pretty young and OG depth is the one problem we do NOT have in the minors I have no problem with this...hey it's something to talk about at least right??
  21. If I were to list the top 5 problems on the Twins Dozier would be 5...he'll be fine I believe.
  22. I just assumed Escobar would replace him next season...otherwise what are they gonna do with him??
  23. This is what I'm talking about...everything is a criticism even when there isn't anything to criticize. Rube chat part 2!
  24. If they were in the race then NO way Gray pitches, other then that I don't know why and since it does'nt matter much I really won't get bent although most will because it's what they do and there is enough of them.
