    OMG, Twins daily has had some ridiculous articles...but this one takes the cake.

    Salary dump? He was not performing up to expectations and his future looked dismal with the Twins. He may be able to rejuvenate his career in Houston Kind of an albatross off the Twins neck. This will free up money for the Twins to their sign younger players.

    I remember another Twins prospect from a couple years ago, a guy named Rooker, that all the wanna be GM's dissed because of his defense. It seems he has carved out a nice career.

    The Pohlads really enjoy watching the Twins lose, it was their highest form of entertainment. I also like how people talk about "we" when referring to the Twins. That is until something goes wrong, then it is they or the cheap Pohlads. If it is truly "we" then chip in some money to help make the payroll. It is easy to critique when you have nothing in the game

    If they want to have a chance at doing anything this year they cannot give up the only reliable lefty they have, unless they get one in return. If they lose him at the end of the season, that's the game they play to stay half way viable this season. Just like the rumors of trading Buxton, after all these years he is finally living up to his hype, he wants to be here and he is on a team friendly contract. Why on earth would the Twins trade him now?

    Why would they trade Coulombe? He is the only reliable left they have?

    So tired of the trade deadline hype. Selling teams are not going to give up their assets for mediocre minor leaguers. Where did that fantasy come from? Selling teams are in the drivers seat and they can hold out for a kings ransom. The only time I see a deadline trade being worth is a team like the Tigers this year, A great team that needs serious bullpen help to really put them over the top. It is going to take more than one player or two to give a team like the Twins there. The time to deal for a team like the Twins is in the off season.

    The Rays sold for $1.7 billion. they have a history of terrible attendance and now don't have a stadium. The Twins should be worth at least that much.

    The Twins may not be contenders this season, but I think they have players to build on. Ryan, Buxton, Duran, Jax. Lee, Lewis and others. They would be foolish to trade any of their key pieces. Badar has a metal option for next year at a reasonable price and they should try to keep him, the same with Coulombe. If they can trade some of their fringe players for players that can enhance their core they should do that. But a full blown fire sale is not needed.

    Watching Twins games it appears that Paddack is the life of a very lifeless dugout. He will be missed when he leaves

    Kirby Puckett was a 1st round third overall pick in 1982. I think he ranks equally or better than Mauer.

    Buxton is finally becoming the player everyone always hoped he would be, and now you want to trade him?

    I thought Paddack would be gone by the deadline, With the injuries to the rotation, that may be tough now.. Paddack also seems to be the leader in what seems to be a dead uninspired dugout. He seems to be the only one keeping any life going in it.

    How long did Mahle last with the Twins? They may not HOFers, bur the Reds got a couple of useful years out of their end and they are still on the team. Deadline deals have gotten trendy and every team that has a winning record at the break is now supposed to do a deal to appease writers and fans. The sellers are robbing them blind. It's a joke.

    Maybe a decent left-handed relief pitcher, if the Twins don't need to sell the farm to get him.

    Watching the Reds game, both their corner infielders came to them in a deadline trade with the Twins. The Twins got Mahle. The Reds also got some other top prospects. The same year the Twins got Jorge Lopez from the Orioles for Yennier Cano and others. Both trades were complete bust from the Twins perspective. Deadline deals allow the selling team to commit highway robbery. If a team is truly in the race and lacks that one key piece to put them over the top, a deadline deal may work. For a team like the Twins that has multiple holes, Deadline deals only drain them of prospects. So tired of media and writers that keep pushing teams to make stupid deals just to get ratings and sell papers. Of course when the trade blows up like they did for the Twins in '23, these same media and writers are the first to jump on the team for making a bad deal.

    The winners in most deadline deals are the sellers. I cringe every year at all the calls for the Twins to make some lopsided trade for some so called help. If a team is truly in the race for a deep play off run and has a glaring need, a deadline deal may be worth it. But just trading away prime prospects to appease the fans and media isn't.

    My god, I hate all these stupid stats. Just watch the damn game let that tell you who is performing. No he is not a HOF candidate. But he is the guy I want to see at the plate in clutch situations He has played an adequate 1st base and he costs a million bucks. The problem with Twins Daily is there are so many wanna be writers and analyist and not enough interesting articles to write.
