  1. We wouldn't spend the money that we are on our D-line if most offensive lines are terrible to the extent you claim. That would be a terrible waste of resources. I'm not buying that.
  2. I get that, but he's under pressure almost every single time. He has no choice but to make risky throws under pressure. He can't throw it away or take a sack or we'll be 3 and out every single drive.
  3. I fear that rather than a crescendo, we're seeing just a tip of the iceberg. I not only think Trump will win a second term, but think it's quite possible he leverages a situation where he takes a lifetime dictatorship, a la Putin. Think about the people he's been able to gain unquestioned support from. His tariffs are literally driving farmers to kill themselves (recent articles have put farmers at something like 20x the national average suicide rate), yet they won't sway in their support. He's a billionaire from New York, who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, yet has positioned himself as the hero to those who hate the coastal elites. He's a frequent divorcee, who cheats on his wives with strippers and porn stars, wants to have sex with his own daughter, and responded to a question asking him his favorite bible verse with, "all of them" (meaning he doesn't actually know any), yet has unwavering support of evangelicals. He frequently insults veterans, and their families, including our most famous war hero, yet gets the vast majority of the military vote. He's cozied up to Putin and Russia. At worst, conspired with them to rig an election. At best, turned a blind eye after the fact. Imagine if Obama or Hillary did that? It's really one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. He, along with the rest of the GOP, have convinced a large segment of the population that liberals are the worst possible enemy. Worse than communism, worse than violence, worse than racism, worse than poverty, whose than terrorism, worse than anything. Amazing.
  4. Run blocking and pass blocking are two separate compartments, IMO, and should not be graded together. The pass blocking was atrocious. Steve Jordan's kid had his way with O'Neill all night. The secondary indeed played really well. Brees often had all day in the pocket, and still couldn't find anyone. Very impressed with the secondary. I think they might have really found someone in Holton Hill. He can play. The lack of consistent pressure on Brees was concerning. I know the Saints O-line is really good, but our defensive line is supposed to be elite. Griffin shouldn't have played until he's back in game shape. He was a complete non factor, except when he was killing us with penalties. I'd love to see what Cousins could do with time in the pocket like Brees gets.
  5. What part is on Cousins? How is he supposed to know that Diggs is going to stop running his route? Can't believe we're asking more of Cousins. He's the one guy that pulled his weight tonight.
  6. Yep. This is still a game if not for that missed PAT.
  7. That missed extra point could haunt them if they score here.
  8. He does need to stop tipping his throws though. Way too easy to bat them down.
  9. Not sure what Cousins could have done on the interception. That one was on Diggs.
  10. Whether it's rust, or his head still isn't in it, Everson has been a non contributor tonight. Aside from the two penalties he's committed.
  11. That was a 3 man rush that destroyed our o-line on 3rd down.
  12. Really Zimmer? You got 2 timeouts, and Thielen and Diggs.
  13. Can't have stupid mistakes against a team this good.
  14. Man. I say it every week, but I continue to be amazed at the talent of Thielen and Diggs. Wow.
  15. Cousins has a tell. That's why he's getting the ball batted at the line all the time. He pats the ball, sometimes, before he throws.
  16. This would be a good win even without the injuries.
  17. When you're down to insulting me instead of responding, then it's time for us to be finished with this conversation.
  18. At the time of my post, Purdue was 3-1, the Gophers were 0-4. Non conference records can't be used for comparison. The talent level is too vast. It matters what Purdue did to Ohio State because that shows that Ohio State isn't any good, which makes hanging with them for 3 quarters meaningless. You still haven't answered my question. How many Big 10 wins are reasonable to expect next year?
  19. Also, it looks like they might have just found their quarterback.
  20. Well, seems like a step in the right direction, at least. Now let's see if it's something they build on, or just an isolated incident.
  21. Huh? The OP explicitly said the first 2 of those 3 applied to Molitor as well.
  22. If Joe wanted to play 3 more years, he wouldn't be considering retirement, would he?
  23. You seem to be making his point for him. The FO can't control how players perform. All they can do is add or subtract talent from the roster. The feeling, both here and in the media, was that the roster was in a good place heading into the season. Those players underperforming is on the field staff, not the front office.
  24. That assumes that Buxton and Sano's issues are purely mechanical. I don't believe that to be the case. There is plenty going with those two that a manager can influence.
