  1. It wasn't intentional. I thought you were dismissing the idea that they gave up on Hicks too soon, because he probably wouldn't have found success without leaving. If I misinterpreted you, I apologize, but it certainly wasn't intentional.
  2. You said that Murphy could be helping us greatly right now. I assume that means as he's playing this year, not as he did when he was here. You later said that Hicks only became good because he left.
  3. If we are to assume that Hicks doesn't become good if he stays here, why are we assuming that Murphy becomes good if he stays here, where he also was terrible?
  4. I've never thought that Jorge had any kind of MLB ceiling, aside from AAAA type spot appearances now and then. I've always been baffled that he was considered a prospect. I think the fact that not a single team claimed him speaks volumes about his actual prospect value. He's milb filler, this is a meaningless move.
  5. Walking papers? I never got walking papers. You know what I got? Some guy would come over to my desk and say get the hell out of here!
  6. Couldn't sign, but free to negotiate, I think. The WS has been over for a few days, we're closer to the deadline than we are the WS, and still no deal, I assume that is where the concern lies. If it was just the formality of waiting until the WS was over, I assume he'd have signed right away. That makes me think they're still haggling. Not freaking out yet, but a touch concerned.
  7. Romero has already lost his prospect status. Kiriloff and Graterol have already passed Gordon and Gonsalves in my book, not sure which one I'd rank #2, that's a tough choice.
  8. He's not speedy, I'd guess doubly so since the knee injury. He doesn't have the arm for the left side of the infield. I'd guess if he doesn't stick at 2B he'll be a corner outfielder.
  9. It's possible, I suppose. If I had to guess, I'd think that's not a high priority for most players, even if it was for Reed.
  10. I mean, he's not driving to Missouri. He has to go through the airport hassle and catch a flight either way.
  11. Definitely more productive than just ignoring the TIMBERWOLVES forum, if you don't want to see BASKETBALL discussion.
  12. There is nothing to correct, yet. Jorge is still in the organization, until/unless he's traded or claimed.
  13. He wasn't released. They have 7 days to trade him, and if he clears waivers he is still with the organization.
  14. Not quite. Little is not the same as nothing. 'According to her mother, she's doing well these days. She has little memory of what happened when she was four to six years old, and seemingly no lingering effect has surfaced—"she just knows that [Luke] was inappropriate," the mother says. "But those kind of things manifest differently in every single victim. As far as I can tell, no, it hasn't. She's still my superstar girl; she's stronger than most full-grown women. I mean, she's great. But I do worry that in the future that it will."'
  15. Do we actually have any factual evidence that pitch counts reduced injuries and extend careers?
  16. Every player they acquired came with pretty big question marks, hence why they were available on such team friendly deals.
  17. Where did I mention money?
  18. Yes, I do. This kid is special. He was the #1 overall pick. Mauer played a combined 135 games at A+ and AA before getting the call.
  19. Not all teams operate on a (mostly) strict 50% of revenue payroll. The Twins do. It's quite a coincidence if they just happened to raise payroll but almost exactly the 50% of the Disney money they received, if it's completely unrelated.
  20. He's in high A now. If it takes him 15 months to move to AA, something went terribly wrong.
  21. "The front office did a tremendous job of putting quality talent on the 25-man roster this offseason." Not sure I can agree with this, given their performance on the field.
  22. If payroll is north of $130 million next year, I'll leave town.
  23. "The $1.5 BILLION dollar deal is also going to have a sizable impact in Major League Baseball. Why? According to SBJ’s Eric Fisher, each club will pocket approximately $50 million dollars from Disney’s acquisition of BAMtech."
  24. Yep and Nancy Pelosi says it's a fluke and not a sign of anything. The DFL is really their own worst enemy sometimes, if that's their lesson from this primary.
  25. What if he tells you he doesn't want to be QO'd or traded or extended? Then you just let him walk for nothing, because that's what he wants?
