  1. The shooter has twice been hospitalized in psychiatric care, and has been prescribed anti psychotic medication, but yet is allowed to buy handguns. This country needs to come to the realization that no, not everyone gets to have guns. That won't happen until we have the courage to take on the NRA.
  2. But they'll be getting calls looking to see if his rough season equates to a bargain.
  3. Sadly, but not surprisingly, McCain's captor from Vietnam gave a more genuine and heartfelt tribute than Trump could muster.
  4. If you send him home and tell him to get ready for 2019, no they won't. If you send him home after the milb season ends, then bring him back as soon as you gain another year of service time, as the post you quoted suggests, they absolutely will have a case. A winnable one, IMO. There really is no way to spin that besides service time.
  5. Unfortunately, I think this officially means that Pat Elflein won't be ready for week 1.
  6. I think the point is the much of the defense of his value revolves around his defense at first base- which is meaningless when he's playing DH.
  7. John McCain, dead at age 81. Rest in peace, sir.
  8. Do you think Grossman has a realistic chance of being a part of the next Twins WS team?
  9. I seem to recall the Twins trading Dave Hollins in August, and getting back a kid named David Ortiz.
  10. So you can't hurt someone intentionally beaning them? They can only be hurt when it's accidental? I don't follow the logic on that.
  11. I would just ride it out. If he accepts a QO, you get his next 2 years, without having to pay for his decline years. If he doesn't, you get a draft pick.
  12. A true American hero. I also have always had the utmost respect for the man.
  13. Mike Tice didn't get his draft pick turned in on time, twice.
  14. And I've said all along that I'd like Sendejo a lot more as a third safety than a starter, so I agree and hope they keep him for depth, rather than moving him. This defense could be 2001 Ravens level special. I'm excited.
  15. As the low man on the board on Sendejo, I say awesome news.
  16. Perhaps next time the Twins have a first ballot hall of Famer in their system, he'll make it up before age 20. Also, keep in mind, that Kiriloff missed a full season. With another 600 plate appearances under his belt, he might already be on the big club. You may not personally like service time manipulation, but it's part of the CBA. It's negotiated. If you're in contention, and think a guy can help, you might risk burning that extra year of control. If you're not in contention, then getting that 7th season in the middle of a player's prime is the responsible thing to do.
  17. Rodriguez is a starter, not a reliever. He would have been behind Romero, Littel, Gonsalves, and Slegers before he got his shot, which means he'd maybe just be on the cusp of getting his first taste right now.
  18. Then again, some players might appreciate the opportunity to play for something besides a draft pick. If I were him, I'd be thankful that the Twins gave me that opportunity.
  19. There are some people that are just predators, and can't be rehabilitated, period. They will continue to be predators in prison, so I disagree that revenge is the only reason for the death penalty. How do we protect other prisoners, and prison staff from these people? That doesn't necessarily mean I support the death penalty though. I'm not sure. It's so complex, I go back and forth on it. Some cases are so disturbing and horrific, it's hard to read the details and not crave a death sentence.
  20. Hildenberger has better numbers, both career and this year, against lefies than he does against righties.
  21. Yeah, it's almost 100% that Stewart would be claimed if exposed to waivers. He might subsequently get the ABWIII yoyo treatment, and be waived again right away, but he'd absolutely get claimed.
  22. He made a heck of a run at it. I'm very impressed with Koepka. He didn't flinch at all.
  23. So far, not so good. But, I hope he gets a couple more starts to show some improvement.
  24. And to add to that, Hildy is actually better against lefties, both this year and last.
