  1. Entirely possible to purchase tickets on the secondary market and refrain from purchasing concessions. They still wouldn't get your money and you're able to enjoy a baseball game.
  2. Yeah, the patriarch was a pretty bad guy, as you'd expect from a ruthless banking empire tycoon. But his family aren't really bad guys. They're just failsons. Except Bill. He's cool and way more successful than the rest of the family. Tree of Life really is incredible. Good job Bill.
  3. A 1B healthy all season hitting 12 HR with 87 RBI and 60 R isn't exactly what anyone should think of as crazy good season stats. More like the base minimum. Which is fine, that's what he was hired to be.
  4. The man has an xwOBA of 0.176 and the team needed baserunners. It makes all the sense in the world. You're concerned a lot less about defense when you're playing from behind. A player like Keirsey is only valuable as a PR and defensive replacement. I know you really want to see your guy succeed, but he's just not very good. It sucks that Larnach put the game out of reach, but their win percentage was already under 13% at that point.
  5. No chance this year's attendance has any effect on a sale price at all. Would be a terrible investor to over weight the only season on record where the current owner had publicly announced they're selling the team.
  6. Another reminder that ERA, especially for relievers, is deeply flawed. The Larnach error being ruled a double added over 0.65 to Funderburk's career ERA. He's at that cusp of being a major leaguer, someone that will bounce up and down while he has options and then bounce around the league a bit when he doesn't. But last night he did his job, and Larnach owes his dinner or something.
  7. Pierzynski! And of course no one could misspell Mientkiewicz after that catchy commercial they ran. But just remember the rule, I Before E...unless you're a AAAA outfielder with an OPS that most pitchers would laugh at.
  8. Thing is, Twins have lots of DH masquerading as OF. And no Bader means someone has to go out there.
  9. Like I said, I wasn't trying to single anyone out but said something because 4 straight people spelled it incorrectly.
  10. Well. That's what a DH in LF looks like.
  11. Go right ahead. There's a difference n typos and just not knowing how to spell someone's name. Earlier I wrote Rooked. In context it's clear I know his name is Rooker. I'm not convinced most people here know how to spell DaShawn's name. It's a pet peeve of mine. I think he's pure dogshit but he deserves the respect of knowing how to spell his name.
  12. Technically speaking, while following the surname, it is not PART of the surname. Why you never see a Griffey Jr jersey.
  13. Just wanna say...idk how everyone constantly misspell so many names here. Not pointing you out but you were the fourth straight person to spell it wrong. Keirsey. He's a Twin! There are only 26 players! He's been on the team for over 50 games this season! Aaggghhhhh!
  14. If you normalize for the season, his postseason ops wasn't all that different than his regular season ops. He was a good hitter, both in the regular season and postseason. He was "clutch" in some notable Yankees series but for some reason forgot his clutch gene at home in some other series.
  15. Kody Clemens would be a really cool all star selection. I hate him as a player and have for 3 seasons now based on his previous stints and haven't been able to change my tune just yet. But I love those kinds of stories. Not a mediocre 1B that's already made an all star game.
  16. He should try letting the game come to him in some less pivotal at bats too. Then he might be a decent player. Or, maybe he's just a fine player and we needn't constantly praise the "approach" that results in a big hit. Sometimes it's just a mediocre player running into a ball and we can celebrate that in itself.
  17. Sure, they paid one year of a good reliever for two years for a basically equal caliber reliever and Rooker. But they paid a bad Brent Rooked that was DFAd twice after the trade. This idea that trading away Rooker was some huge foley is just revisionist history.
  18. Letting games end in ties would be WAY less popular than the extras runner.
  19. I don't get the hate! I don't like it in playoff baseball. But like the pitch clock, I think speeding up the game has been hugely positive. It doesn't provide any real advantage, just forces more urgency in extras. I'm a fan!
  20. Soto at his worst is a significantly better hitter than Lewis at his best. You can't compare the slumping player with a 750 OPS to the guy with a 450 OPS. If Lewis is ever as good a hitter as Soto he has permission to ease up on groundballs.
  21. Twins do have quite the set of home uniforms. 3 very distinct and all quite nice. Not the best City Connects but so much better now that they're using white pants. Those roads though. Woof.
  22. Larnach is slow, and the Royals are in a league of their own in preventing the stolen base. Why he even took off is puzzling. Real close, looked safe but dumb to even try there.
  23. When you have a shallow team with some plodding, terrible defensive OF, it's not the worst to have a late inning pinch running defensive option. But gees his use today was just pretty ridiculous. But yeah. #FireDaShawn
  24. Good ph decision. But makes you wonder why they put in Keirsey in the first place.
