  1. At least they made Fedde throw a lot of pitches, but yeah, that sucked.
  2. Let's get the sweep today and some help from the Rays and Tigers. Twins could be be just a game out of the first WC spot and have Cleveland's lead down to four.
  3. I'm still shocked at how bad Margot's been in the outfield - there's been times where he doesn't look like a professional baseball player out there.
  4. Noticed that Rocco and the trainer came out to check on Max on Monday night. Look like he tweaked something.
  5. White Sox line-up on paper isn't that bad - they have a few bats that can do damage. Hopefully Ober's locked in today. When he is, he's usually really good.
  6. I haven't the slightest idea but I wonder what their books would look like if they have the revenue from an extended playoff run, i.e., World Series appearance or 6-7 games into the ALCS, but also increase their payroll by 10% from August through the end of the season.
  7. Not sure about that. He was a legit ace in last year's post-season.
  8. If Pablo gets right, and I still think he will before October, the Twins can compete with anyone in the American League, including the Yankees. It's absolutely time to get that monkey off the franchise's back.
  9. They have the makings of a starting rotation through 2027 consisting of Pablo, Ryan, Ober, and SWR. The fifth spot can be Festa, Raya or a bridge vet like Paddack. I understand wanting to have depth in AAA but Varland's not in. Move him to the pen sooner rather than later.
  10. Margot got off to a horrific start but at the plate, I think he's competent. Biggest issue with him, surprisingly, is his play in the outfield. He's a train wreck out there.
  11. Could be a perfect storm. The Yankees might right the ship, but they might not. The Orioles, as talented as they are, have less of a post-season track record than this current Twins' team. Does anyone think the Twins couldn't beat Cleveland, Boston, Seattle, or Houston in October? If Lewis, Correa and Buxton are healthy, there's definitely a path to the World Series. If the Pohlad's don't go all-in at this year's deadline, they're missing a golden opportunity. And, by all-in, I don't mean the likes of Mahle, Lopez, and Fullmer.
  12. Lopez / Ryan / Ober / SWR Health allowing, the Twins have the makings of a good rotation again in 2025 so I don't necessarily think they'd give up a ton of prospect capital to acquire a controllable starter. The better play is either bullpen arms or a starter on an expiring deal that slots as either a #3 or #4, and lets the Twins shift Paddack to the pen for the post-season.
  13. Won't be too hard on Jax because Robert was gifted a ball 3 - the check swing was a somewhat obvious strike. If the Twins get that call, Jax's line looks a lot cleaner. As for Okert, I could be wrong but he hasn't pitched in a while and perhaps some rust led to hitting Ben. His strikeout of Robert loomed large - if there was ever a time I was expecting a 400+ FT homer, it was there. I find Morneau to be a little corny at times but he made a good point about the line-up. Last night's version has no easy outs. 1 through 9. Everyone's a threat. They're rolling right now and when Lewis gets back, it is going to be a wealth of riches. My only question (fear) is what happens with Lee? Sending him down would be an awful decision but this front office loves veteran players and Farm Dog is a bit of a made man because of his 'leadership' and value in the clubhouse. Farm Dog absolutely needs to go, but will they do it? Oh, and I'm happy to eat a 50-pound plate of crow when it comes to Popkins. It's not too hard to make a fool out of me and my baseball takes but Popkins has taken it to another level! Well done.
