  1. It’s not. Clearly not at the plate and he isn’t even allowed to play in the field.
  2. I think that it’s an indication of a truly mediocre team that could so recently have a “signature “ win like the Correa walk off game, then follow it up with almost complete no shows. At home no less.
  3. So disheartening for fans to watch a supposedly inferior team come in here and boss the Twins around in every aspect of the game. I sure hope we salvage a split with these guys.
  4. Tonight our #2 and #3 hitters were combined 0 for 8 with 5 K’s. That’s a big part of it I think.
  5. And compounding that is the fact that he’s not being allowed to contribute in the field.
  6. Kinda surreal that I’m now cautiously hoping for a series split. Oh well.
  7. It’s like Buck starts every AB with 2 strikes
  8. How much you want to bet AK gets pinch hit for in this game
  9. Lopez’ body language just never instills any confidence. At this point he looks like he’s expecting bad stuff to happen.
  10. And just like that he fooled Rowdy! My bad.
  11. Winder scares me. He’s doesn’t have much tonight.
  12. For the love of all that us good, please MAT shorten up that 2-strike swing…..
  13. A couple of discouraging AB’s for AK. I don’t know if I want anyone in the dugout trying to help him or not.
  14. Man I hate getting beat by Rowdy. Been a while since the Twins had a guy “fill out” a uniform like him.
  15. I’m not normally a ball/strike commentator but something strange is afoot tonight.
  16. Big strike zone tonight apparently. Fine if it’s consistent
  17. Strength of schedule/quality of opponent isn't what I see as a big determinant for the rest of this year. Got swept by Tampa, but by and large it seems like they been playing up or down to competition. Horribly inconsistent (or consistently bad?) at the plate regardless of pitcher quality. I'm hanging my hat on a more stable lineup/batting order with veteran hitters regressing to their historical K rates, with some younger players (finally!) getting their chances to stick.
  18. I'm on board with this take. Based on recent trends I was thinking that they'd go 1-5 on that trip; they go 2-4 so we fans should be ok if we were realistic about this being maybe an 85 win team. That said, I'm expecting them for go 4-2 this week. 5-1 would be a really good sign.
  19. Great article Cody. Many comments already above covering what is obvious to even casual fans; there’s an organizational philosophy to plate appearances that is severely degrading the product. So much coddling, rationalizing and excusing. If I were running things there would be a “Land of 10,000 K’s” vest a batter would be required to wear in the dugout after striking out. These guys would have worn it out already.
  20. Even though he didn’t get a hit, that AB shows me you should NEVER be pinch hitting for AK. He made somewhat decent contact on a tough lefty.
