  1. I feel like we could skim quite a bit off picks Comp A through round 6 to entice a HS commit to sign. I see enough potential savings between those rounds to bring pick 11 up to round 2/3 pick value. Braden Montgomery is tops on my wish list. Two-way guy, with lot's of potential either way. Also seems very mature and humble judging by his interview with Baseball Prospect Journal. Potential five tool guy, good character, team centric ... lot's to like about him.
  2. Twins appeared to have an agreement with Kyle Cody.
  3. Kinda hoped we had a deal to pull Cody Schrier away from his UCLA commit. Add another SS from JSerra Catholic.
  4. At the top of the MLB Network broadcast, Jim Callis heard on "good authority" that the Clemson football team would be very disappointed with the 1st pick of round two. Pittsburgh using the 1st pick in round three tells me Clemson may not be as disappointed as originally thought.
  5. Adrian Del Castillo was mocked a couples times to the Twins by different outlets. We are very thin at the catcher position in the system. Definitely need to come away with a college catcher (or two) today.
  6. The only reason Bubba Chandler isn't in my top 3 is because of signing concerns. I could see him choosing football at Clemson over baseball. To follow in the QB footsteps of Trevor Lawrence is a pretty solid career path. More especially after the NIL decision for NCAA athletes. Regardless of what he chooses, he has a very bright future.
  7. In the final Fangraphs mock, Eric Longenhagen and Kevin Goldstein had the Twins connected to Matheu Nelson, C, FSU (drafted) and Edwin Arroyo, SS, Arecibo Academy (PR) based on draft patterns. My wish list for pick 61. 1. Anthony Solometo, LHP, Bishop Eustace (NJ) - Like his unique windup/delivery, creates deceptiveness, solid comps, signability concerns? 2. Jaden Hill, RHP, LSU - Injuries have plagued him. When healthy, stuff is top 5 in draft class. 3. Ethan Wilson, OF, South Alabama - IMO, Wilson fits the bill for a Falvey/Levine 2nd round pick.
  8. I'd be skeptical about wins 2 through infinity. The first one means something.
  9. It makes sense to be cautious with Ober. What I don't understand is why Rocco didn't leave him in until after the 5th. His job as Manager is to also build confidence in our young guys. Being overly cautious could backfire. If he wasn't in complete control against one of the worst teams in baseball, then I get pulling him in the situation. But man ... would have been nice to line him up for his first MLB win. Individual achievements that boost confidence is just as important as being cautious.
  10. After what I've seen from Alcala thus far including the mess he cleaned up last night, I'd like to see him take over closing duties the rest of this season despite his inexperience. That fella has devastating stuff and ice running through his veins.
  11. Alex Cole. I wish I could have seen what she saw wearing those massive glasses.
  12. I continue to have high hopes for Romero. His stuff is lethal when he puts it all together. The stretch of starts in May 2018, from his debut and first MLB win against Toronto to his loss against Seattle, at only 23 years old, convinced me this guy is special and should be groomed as a starter. Wes will make it happen.
  13. I was quite likely at the same show. Slayer die-hards are a spectacle. I've always wanted to hear the opening of Raining Blood, starting with the sound of rain into the opening riff, as a Twins closer walks from the bullpen to shut it down.
  14. Twins Daily needs more metal heads. RAINING BLOOD - SLAAAAAAYYYYER!!!!
  15. I've never understood articles that criticize a player who will essentially be a 3rd catcher and utility guy. The 26th man on the roster who will spend more time in Rochester than in Minnesota gets a special level of scrutiny. Astudillo has a unique skill set that allows Baldelli to give nearly every starter a day of rest on a rotating basis. He can also come off the bench and put the ball in play when it needs to be in play. How often have we watched a guy on third with one out get stranded? I don't disagree with any of the factual statistics in the article. It just boggles my mind how much scrutiny a player like Astudillo endures simply because he became a fan favorite. It's such a Minnesota sports thing to do.
  16. Just checked the box score of the NYY/Cle game last night - no intentional HBP in the 8th while Cleveland ran up the score with 1 out. Apparently not everyone is keen on the unwritten rules.
  17. This confuses me. Are you saying uninformed opinions shouldn't be expressed? Should opinions only be reserved for those more informed? Because I like to learn and become more informed on topics, especially when it comes to our MN Twins, I express uninformed opinions. Responses to my opinions are how I become more informed. Now my head hurts.
  18. If I'm making the decision and he's still there, Brennan Malone is the pick at #13. The ball comes out of his hand effortlessly.
  19. Of all this incredible analysis, my one take away is our wives are of similar taste: "...on again/off-again Ross-and-Rachel relationship." Unless of course you're the Friends fan of the house?
  20. A-Rod's engaged now. Odds of him trading physiques with our boy Willians increased exponentially.
  21. "...FBI discovered that all the tuition money was going to the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh..." Someone has been watching a lot of Netflix recently. Excellent work Stu.
  22. I wouldn't say this signing is about Gordon. Any long-term extension impacts the career path for other players that play the same position(s). Gordon's path, along with Luis Arraez now have more obstacles.
  23. Sign and trade to keep his contract off the books 2020 and beyond. Conspiracy theory train keeps rolling.
  24. I can get down with a Lewis & Polanco double-play combo. This likely means Gordon is the odd man out.
