  1. I expected Young to go over slot. Curious where savings from Houston will go. Agbayani?

  3. Saints currently tied for 4th in OPS in the International League. They're 5th in SLG, 4th BA, 8th BB. Nate Spears might be on to something. Then again, Saints batters have the second most strikeouts in the league.
  4. I was excited to see Brooks Lee line from the game last night when I read Witcha put up 16 runs on 18 hits. Shocked to see he went 0 for 6! Never would have expected that.
  5. Plenty of money came off the books to bolster the rotation through free agency. Our farm system isn’t deep enough to trade pieces in the top 5-10 for potentially one year of an ace. Too risky right now, in my opinion.
  6. Perfect Game lists him as their 467th best HS prospect with a college commit to Northwest Florida State. So ... who knows?
  7. Omari Daniel, SS, The Walker School, GA. Looks like he may have been injured his Senior season. Appeared in only a handful of games. Bio from MaxPreps: Omari Daniel is a 2022 SS/ with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Smyrna, GA who attends The Walker School. Recorded a 6.69 second 60-yard dash time. Projectable build with plenty of fast twitch and athleticism present. Primary shortstop with good hands and moves really well. Higher slot with excellent arm strength recorded up to 97 mph. Attacks the ball and surrounds well. Very good defensive actions with plus arm strength to back it up. Right-handed hitter with a slightly open stance and good extension through contact. Functional stroke with a middle of the field plan. Linear impact and hips work well into contact. Big upside in all facets. Great student. Verbal commitment to Oregon.
  8. My eyes are on Jayden Hylton today. MLB lists him as the 114th ranked prospect. Well built and tall - 6'6", 220 lbs. BA .438, OBP .560. He's hit 4 HR and 5 triples against some of the best high schools in Florida, including Stoneman Douglass. Committed to Stetson, which doesn't seem like a school we can't entice him away from. MLB posted a very nice feature of Jayden and his family. Jayden Hylton's journey to the Draft (mlb.com)
  9. Zebby Matthews: 95.2 IP, 122/21 K/BB - Competition aside, that's impressive.
  10. Heck of a first full season for him as well. Could be a steal.
  11. I don't know anything about him either. He was an ABCA NCAA Div. II First Team All-American along with two Minnesota kids - Sam Riola (SCSU) and Cam Kline (MN - Mankato).
  12. Shoot ... I hoped Keegan would be there for us in the 5th round.
  13. Not sure why we passed on Birdsell for Morris. Probably meant to save money for Priellipp.
  14. Puzzling to me as well. If they do split the bonus 50/50, both wind up being pick 15. So perhaps that's exactly the deal Boras brokered. Makes sense for both players, especially if Porter was going to drop because of his perceived firm commitment to Clemson.
  15. Absolutely love the time and effort y’all put into MLB draft coverage. All the analysis is incredible. As a fan of prospects and mocks … thank you. That said, if it comes down to Cross as the best (affordable) bat available, I take a risk on Lesko or Prielipp.
  16. I completely agree. If Lesko is at 8, the Twins have to draft him. At that point he also becomes BPA. I'm really high on Cam Collier. Youngest draft eligible player (only 17) with loads of talents, pedigree, smooth LH swing and mid-90's FB. One season at Chipola College: .308/.427/.500, 6 HR, 23 BB , 22 K. His name will gain some helium the closer we get to draft day.
  17. Balazovic's scoreless streak is made even more impressive by the fact it has come against the three teams chasing Witcha in the AA Central - North Division. Tulsa, Arkansas and NW Arkansas have a combined .530 winning percentage (all 3 over .500). He is blanking highly competitive division rivals.
  18. Perhaps I'm mistaken about Bauer ... he isn't a FA, but I believe he has a player option each year of his 3-year deal.
  19. Based on our offensive numbers against the rest of the league, we should keep the band together. Twins rank in the top 10 in BA, OPS, and HR, top 15 in nearly every other offensive category - 21st in SO though, which surprised me. The team has hit very well considering all the young guys we've had to play due to injuries and other circumstances. This season is once again a result not investing into quality pitching. We try too hard to fill our rotation and BP with bounce-back candidates or possible diamonds in the rough. My thought is to work hard to extend Berrios and Buxton. We won't get enough in return (IMO) to make it worthwhile. Invest heavily into quality FA arms in the off-season. Overpay if we have to, it's just money (easy for me to say). We are a much better team than our record reflects at the moment. I see no reason to sell now. If we're in the same position one year from now, become sellers then.
  20. Wow ... we didn't even use our final pick on a college committed HS guy to establish a relationship. Damn.
  21. This morning on the Day 2 thread I commented that we have plenty of savings opportunities between rounds Comp A and 6 ... easily could increase value of a 11-20 pick up to 2/3 value. I thought it would be enough to lure a HS away from a college commitment. My guy is Braden Montgomery.
  22. David Festa's worst game pitched was against UCONN 5/21. In that game, Twins 9th round pick Pat Winkel went 3 for 3 with 2 HR and 7 RBI.
  23. Absolutely agree. More especially being a Stanford commit. Doesn't get much better from an education perspective.
