  1. Just read the whole game thread, and I can’t believe this comment, which is by far the post of the day, went unremarked. Twins are 23-30, which is a long way down. However, they have all the pieces, and they have lost Polanco, Santana, Castro, Mauer, Sano, and Buxton. That’s your starting SS, #1 pitcher, C, 1B, 3B and CF. Meanwhile, Lynn, Odirizzi, Morrison and Rodney have all turned things around and looks like they will be positive contributors. Plus Romero looks awesome. Get those injured guys back, have a solid month of June, get to the All-Star Break near 500, and then let’s see what we’ve got.
  2. Ugh. So sorry, jimmer. Man, I come back to check in on results, the Indians are down 8-3 in the 8th, Berrios is pitching on his birthday, the magic 8 ball predicts victory, all things are pointing in the right direction. And now I see the Indians lose, Berrios pitches a great game, but the Twins still lose, and jimmer has cancer! (And no, I’m not in any way saying there is any equivalence in these different facts.)
  3. Scoreboard watch, Indians up 3-2 on the Astros in the 8th, and the Stros score 6 to go up 8-3. Hope the magic 8 ball is right, would be nice to get a game back today.
  4. Weird to type this, but I wish Molitor had used Rodney last night over Magill.
  5. Buxton back in the lineup, whew! Son, the wall always wins, and the team needs you on the field. Stop taking so many runs at the wall: 1. Brian Dozier ® 2B 2. Max Kepler (L) RF 3. Miguel Sano ® DH 4. Eddie Rosario (L) LF 5. Eduardo Escobar (S) 3B 6. Logan Morrison (L) 1B 7. Ehire Adrianza (S) SS 8. Bobby Wilson ® C 9. Byron Buxton ® CF 1. Guillermo Heredia ® CF 2. Ben Gamel (L) LF 3. Mitch Haniger ® RF 4. Nelson Cruz ® DH 5. Kyle Seager (L) 3B 6. Ryon Healy ® 1B 7. Chris Herrmann (L) C 8. Gordon Beckham ® 2B 9. Andrew Romine (S) SS
  6. This is a great move. Hughes might be better in Petco, but really the point is getting him off the books and not needing to worry about using him, either rotation or bullpen. It’s amazing they got anything, and doing so by only giving him one start was prudent too.
  7. Chris Carter of the Sanoian strikeout tendencies?
  8. Having grown up in Wisconsin, that report seems about right.
  9. What is most likely to occur the rest of this year? # of Joe Hall of Fame Threads # of Joe Home runs # of Joe first pitch swings # of Joe 3-0 swings # of Buxton CS # of Lynn complete games (ducks)
  10. But will he get caught stealing before he gets there?
  11. I think last night’s game proved a baseball axiom....it is hard to win without scoring any runs.
  12. I’m sorry, I forgot about the Upton home run.
  13. I’ll even humor you by asking for another joke.
  14. Chief, I really enjoy this quality time together.
  15. Just don’t come trying to get on the bandwagon after we’ve left the station, Chief.
  16. Lance Lynn has a 3.00 ERA in May.
  17. Molitor clearly went into that inning with a “one base runner and he’s gone” mentality.
  18. Anyone else looking forward to the Gibson-Ohtani matchup on Saturday?
  19. Dozier likes to ambush eighth inning solo homers.
  20. I can’t help but wonder what would have happened if Gibson has started the Wild Card game.
  21. Ummm, they got closer? They gave up fewer home runs? It’s all I’ve got. This sucks.
