100% behind this move. I think it’s the right move. Takes some cajones to pull the trigger on making the decision to do it, though. He was behind Ryan and Maeda in the pecking order to start the season.

In a series of articles on the Athletic by Al Melchior on “Diamond density notes” he describes the difference in Air Density Index (ADI) measured in different ballparks, and the impact that changes in air density experienced by hitters, which he defines as “Visual Memory Index.” He writes: ”The worst-case scenario for hitters is to move from a venue that had low ADIs to one with high ADIs, as it can take them two or three days to adjust their expectations of how much pitches are going to move.”

I expect the Twins to put up more runs in this series for two reasons: 1) They’ve now been away from the Denver altitude for a week (except Lewis and Correa) and will have fully readjusted to thicker air and to breaking pitches, and 2) The first two games are in Minute Maid Park, and they have hit lots of home runs this season - a great combo.

Honestly it’s a weird situation to finish the season at Coors Field. The thin air messes with players swings. I hope that these games don’t have too big an impact on their hitting come Tuesday. It usually takes a game for hitters to readjust. In some ways it’s good that Correa, Lewis and Buxton aren’t there but are instead getting a bunch of live ABs in the Twins Cities. -

According to the spreadsheet on your son’s site you linked to, the MLB playoff games are scheduled for 2pm, 3pm, 6pm and 9pm eastern time on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Current matchups are Hou @ Min Tor @ TB Mia @ Milwaukee Ariz @ Philly If I were scheduling those four games, I’d throw my hands up in the air. Maybe… Milwaukee 2pm Tampa 3pm Minnesota 6pm Philly 9pm I’d really guess MLB and the networks are hoping the Cubs and the Mariners sneak back in.
