  1. I know this is what the magic number means, but in real terms…Cleveland with 78 losses, Detroit with 79. Best they can do is 84 and 83 wins by winning out. Twins need to go 8-8 to get to 84 wins. Need to go 9-7 to have their destiny completely in their own hands.
  2. While it was a bit WWF, Gant switched feet on the bag and was way off-balanced. He’s got no leg to stand on.
  3. Math was never your strong suit, Mike. But yes, you raised him right.
  4. Great name. And later, great mustache.
  5. Yeah, let’s all go down there and meet Mike’s son’s girlfriend. (I assume Mike is picking up the check…)
  6. Well, now you’ve got me wondering if the Twins should have had Sano on the roster instead of Gallo. They are both about 30. Here is OPS+: Year Sano Gallo 20. 105 87 (sss) 21. 112. 121 22. 2 (sss) 80 23. 100 Career OPS vs RHP. 802. 798 vs LHP. 810. 766 Career OPS+ Sano: 116. Gallo 109 Career K% of PA: Sano 36.4%. Gallo 37.9%
  7. Arraez: .356 Lopez 3.72 Will they pass each other by season’s end? And has Julien proven that Arraez was expendable? Lopez is 11Ks behind Gausman for the AL strikeout title.
  8. He was good…hit .368 for August…but 5 doubles, 0 homers, and an .821 OPS doesn’t quite make the list. Which is saying something. He IS hitting .800 in September, though.
  9. Pick to click: Joey Gallo. He’s hit 83 of his 197 career home runs at home in Texas. I think him getting to 200 tonight is a bit much to ask…
  10. Let’s go Twins—get to work burying Cleveland regardless of them getting Angel castoffs. Good luck to Andrew Stevenson!
  11. Has Wallner ever missed time from getting HBP? Matt “Cement Bones” Wallner has an interesting ring to it.
  12. These top two teams in the AL Central are both sporting lineups with four players batting under .230.
  13. Pick to click: Michael A. Taylor with home run #20 on the season this evening.
  14. Well, I’m sure they prefer Luplow and Gallo make fewer outs, honestly. But I’m guessing Luplow at minimum is skating on some very thin ice, whether it be for Martin or one of the rehab guys.
