  1. In 5 starts for Rochester, Gonsalves has been very good. In AAA, he's 4-1 with a 2.39 ERA, 5.5 H/9, 0.7 HR/9, 4.4 BB/9, 10.9 K/9 He just does not give up hits.
  2. So Nick Gordon only "might" be better than Ehire Adrianza right now? That's sad to think about. If you meant Gordon only might be a better option than Eduardo Escobar at SS, then I would agree with that.
  3. If Buxton were to go down, I would rather go with Kepler in CF and then Wade in RF. I would think there's no way the Twins would go with Lamarre as their everyday CF.
  4. It's not just this one game though. That's why we're so annoyed. The Twins are 28th in runs scored and 20th in OPS this year. Compare that to 7th and 9th last year, and they were supposed to get better, but the two most pivotal young players are hitting around .200 or worse.
  5. The Mariners were 2 for 3 with RISP with two well placed ground balls. That's frustrating, but at least Romero looked great again. The Twins were 0 for 0 with RISP. I hate this lineup so much right now.
  6. I think walking nearly a batter an inning this year has more to do with it than this luck I keep hearing about.
  7. They're both ground ball machines, and I'm a fan of the heavy sankers. I haven't given up yet
  8. Jordan Hicks of the Cardinals is the hardest throwing pitcher in baseball, and he can't strike anyone out. Some numbers: 2.05 ERA, 5.3 H/9, 0 HR/9, 6.5 BB/9, and 3.7 K/9 in 22 innings. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/baseballs-hardest-thrower-gets-the-second-fewest-strikeouts/
  9. You couldn't have asked for much more from Kirilloff to start the season (besides maybe a few more walks). .324/.363/.600 (.963) with 7 HRs and 34 RBI in just 36 games. Can he top 30 HRs? That might depend on how long he spends in Cedar Rapids.
  10. Travis Blankenhorn at #6 is the surprise for me. He hasn't really put up many good numbers the last two years, especially this year's OBP of .297, and only a .260 career hitter. Those numbers don't inspire a whole lot of confidence.
  11. Not bad. .500/.429/1.500 (1.929) with RISP for Wilson.
  12. All 4 runs produced by Jake Cave and Bobby Wilson. That is just sad. I hate this offense so much right now. And when was the last time you saw someone actually get picked off at 2nd base?
  13. If you can contend for a Division title, you can contend for the World Series title. This is baseball.
  14. Logan Morrison not sliding into 2nd base on Buxton's would-be-hit was a huge mistake. Little things like that can turn games.
  15. I'm all for the Nick Gordon plan. The lineup needs a spark.
  16. A 1st ballot HOFer, not anymore.
  17. I actually thought Romero had great control. He was missing by inches and wasn't getting any leeway calls from the umpire. He is a beast.
  18. I feel like the game turned on that Grossman pop up with a runner on third and one out.RISP situations have been horrible for the Twins.
  19. Hildenberger finally got his sinker sinking last night. That could be a huge help to the bullpen.
  20. It's a day game, of course. But still, yes!!!! I'll have to watch the replay.
  21. I hope we see more of a 50/50 split in playing time between Garver and Castro going forward. It would be nice to not have an automatic out from that spot.
  22. Gonsalves is doing Gonsalves things in AA. 3-0 with a 1.77 ERA, 11.1 K/9 and just 4.9 H/9 The negatives are the walks and the pitches per inning being too high so far.
  23. Kirilloff is continuing a solid start to his season, especially considering the weather and coming off the injury. .270/.309/.492 (.801) with 3 HRs and 17 RBIs
  24. Buxton's toe was fractured, and he could be out for up to a month it looks like. I'm more worried about his durability than I am about him figuring out to consistently hit at this point.
