  1. Miranda and Martin will hopefully push out Margot and Santana at some point this year. If anything the young guys on their heels will get the best possible performance they have left to give
  2. Sounds like Correa has a pretty good chance! he was in the dugout vs the Angels
  3. Yea I'd say 2 of Larnach, Kep, and Julien at the very least. I think there's a good argument for all 3 even
  4. He's got a good enough track record though, I still have faith in him to get it together
  5. Didn't wanna gain too much momentum, that wouldn't be very Twins like
  6. The Twins have already shown they are willing to sign players to higher annual and total value contracts than what Berrios got, they just didn't think he was worth it. It's nothing deeper than that. He's proving them wrong though and it should be tallied as an incorrect FO assessment.
  7. The alternative would've been signing him to a contract, not letting him walk. Also lets not pretend those 2 members forced their way onto the roster due to performance, they were the warm bodies on deck
  8. He's only making $19M a year too, he keeps this up and Toronto might have the best free agent contract for a pitcher in the league
  9. Hopefully this will carry over to the position players once we get healthy
  10. The 5th spot is his to take right now, if he and Martin can be valuable roster pieces it'll make the Berrios trade look a lot better. Man could we use him these days (don't look up his stats)
  11. Agreed, unfortunately we'll have to wait for a healthy Lewis/Lee for him to get bumped
  12. I think SWR has a decent chance to be serviceable as the Varland replacement, but if anyone else goes down or starts to underperform we are in big trouble. Everyone else on this list is a break glass for emergency level of depth
  13. Yea I feel like they must not be able to bring Alcala up yet? I think there's a minimum time period they need to be at AAA barring injury but not sure what it is
  14. Even if he's only good at 34 and 35 the contract will still be fantastic. He also has less than 700 career innings on his arm Of course Sonny would have been a better answer but you were making a money argument, and even giving the FO that excuse Lugo would've fit.
  15. I've stated this on a couple other threads (and advocated signing him months ago so not just hindsight). Seth Lugo
  16. So Plan A from the FO this offseason (assuming they aren't fools and expecting a high number of Paddack and Disco starts) was to have a combo of Paddack/Disco provide 30-35 starts and Varland/SWR cover the 30+ they miss? On a hopeful contender? Meanwhile wasting starter dollars on the other vets mentioned in this article? Fire them yesterday
  17. Cut bait? This FO does not waive veterans they are paying millions of dollars (e.g. Joey Gallo, Santana/Margot to be added shortly). The only way he was getting bumped from the rotation was injury. If their 'plan' was for him to hopefully get hurt once a AAA starter proved himself or to become the highest paid member of our bullpen, then that is a horrible plan.
  18. I don't even need that much. Just a cool 9-4 over our next 13 against beatable opponents to get back to .500. That's all baseball gods. Please 🙏
  19. This will hurt less when Suarez wins the Cy Young in 6 months
  20. If they are making decisions based on what looks worse instead of what's best for the team then they need to be fired, but they've been doing that for awhile now so Maybe if Rocco refuses to start him it will force their hand, but that would be a ballsy move
  21. Uh oh Louie and Paddack are rubbing off on Pablo, we need a barrier in the dugout
  22. Hopefully we can leave town with at least one win. Pablo on the mound against a minor leaguer they just called up should give us a pretty good chance
  23. I actually predicted them to win the division in the poll a couple weeks back with us in second around 81 wins
