  1. Another favorite: http://i926.photobucket.com/albums/ad109/monkeypox/front.jpg THAT is an athlete!
  2. One of my favorite baseball cards: http://www.jonfinkel.com/wp-content/uploads/razor.jpg
  3. Sure looks a lot better than Dan Serafini, Trever Miller, Dan Naulty, etc. as your top pitching prospects.
  4. Tommy John will pick off one or two. Some will flame out in higher levels. Having many is the only way you are likely to get one or tow to actually make an impact in MLB, law of averages and such. Gimme more!
  5. Truth.
  6. Seems like Cody would do well, to take what the Twins offer, especially as his performance dropped off this year. If not, well, I like the #74 next season. If I'm the Twins, I would give him a nice consolation prize, 150-200k, not a complete lowball offer, and used the savings on those later round kids. It's really all or nothing at this point.
  7. If Oswaldo doesn't get called up sometime soon, he might be on your list.
  8. I think it will be either Kepler, Walker, or Hu who will achieve that buzz. Gonsalves, Jay, Gordon, and a healthy Thorpe would also comepete. Not to mention all the other potential studs. WHY MAKE US PICK DAMMIT, THEIR ALL OURS!
  9. Key words? Kyle Gibson. This guy has figured out how to make hitters do what he wants them to do. Cespedes AB in the first today was a great example of not giving in, and he got the double play after an 8 or 9 pitch at bat. Gibson is a good one.
  10. The key to his resurgence imo? He shaved his head - Puck and Hunter excelled out there with the chrome dome, and I knew Hicks would if he only got out the razor. Keep on shavin' Mr. Hicks!
  11. Thanks for the updates. Bummer about Cody. It would be nice if they could agree on something under slot then go hard after Wilson.
  12. Robinson is pretty superfluous with EscobarSantana and Nunez on the bench. Platoon Arcia with Hicks or occasionally with Sano. Could be fun. When Buxton comes back, all bets are off though.
  13. I'd be alarmed more by the strikeouts if he was repeating levels. Every season he faces better pitching - he whiffs a lot, but still wallops the ball as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see the strikeouts drop at some point in his career, as he gets established at what I hope will be the major league level. The guy is a good athlete, and while his approach doesn't fall into norms for success, I wouldn't bet against him.
  14. People keep focussing on the strikeouts, but there is much to be impressed about with Walker. He just keeps producing.
  15. The last thing the Twins should do is make another Capps for Ramos kind of deal. The Twins are sitting on a great farm system, but those top prospects need to graduate to the majors and get established. If and when that happens, and you still have a surplus of prospects, then you make trades. edit-I see Capps for Ramos has been beaten into the ground already. Not surprised.
  16. We know Dozier is an All-Star. Flamboyant on both sides of the ball.
  17. Well, Tony was 27 when he won that gold glove. Not saying OA is TO, but I am an optimist in people's ability to improve.
  18. Just read the Oliva bio by Henninger. I had no idea, but Tony was an awful outfielder initially - through A LOT of hard work, he made himself a gold glover by his 3rd season. He was probably more agile than Oswaldo, but Arcia is good enough of an athlete to get at least average.
  19. It will be a test of Oswaldo's work ethic. I'm rooting for him.
  20. Liking these signs of life from Hicks. He's been pretty good all around this latest call up.
  21. How hard does Peterson throw? He sure has put up great numbers in his pro career: 123 IP, 75H, 178 K, 1.60 ERA
  22. I know Cody was rumored to have signed, but he is still listed as unsigned on the Twins draft page, along with Paul and Moran from the top 10. Anyone know anything about it?
  23. Nice to see Eades and Slegers too - our high pick college starters who had rough starts are picking it up now. Again, when has the Twins organization ever had this much pitching throughout the system?
  24. This is good news - I like giving our top propsects a taste of what they are in for, even if they don't stick the first time around. I think the legacy chestnut of "Twins slow to promote" can be laid to rest this season. The escalator is running fast.
