  1. I think this is a good move. Arcia's injury isn't a major one and he'll probably be ready after 2-3 weeks. So why not give Eddie Rosario a cup of coffee and see how he does in the majors? He'll probably end up getting shipped back down to AAA when Arcia's ready, but that's fine. Rosario could turn out like Santana and Vargas and force his way onto the roster - and that'd be fine, too. I guess for Hicks, when he comes up, it's time he stays up. I see him replacing either Robinson or Schafer, and if one of them are DFA'd, they may not make it through waivers and we'd lose a little depth, meaning that Hicks would need to play well enough to stay on the major league roster.
  2. Ummm... why is Blaine Boyer our setup pitcher???|
  3. Kinda ironic how there was just a new article on this website about an underrated player who's next in line to receive a new contract - Trevor Plouffe. That's a pretty stark contrast to him being called a journeyman here. You usually don't see two articles with opposite points on one website. The article I was talking about: http://twinsdaily.com/blog/536/entry-6476-warne-the-minnesota-twins%E2%80%99-secret-extension-candidate/
  4. So that's why they call him The King. Felix is on a whole other level.
  5. Really? I have a flock of 15 turkeys that lives in my backyard. They're really odd creatures... they can fly for a little bit and they look ridiculous when they do it (they are big birds!). They love to nest in the tops of our trees and then glide down in the morning... it's the weirdest thing. And there's all you need to know about turkeys.
  6. Put Pelfrey in the pen. Now that he's healthy and throwing 93 MPH, he can be an effective bullpen arm. I already trust him more than Boyer, Stauffer, and Thielbar right now. We desperately need some reliable arms in the pen, and I think Pelfrey can do it.
  7. Perhaps if the Twins actually bothered to fix our CF problem last year, we wouldn't be having a problem at SS now. But alas, here we are with still no CF and a rusty SS.
  8. Our incompetency is astounding and has past my levels of comprehension. It's almost fascinating how bad we are.
  9. They have to stay on the roster for the whole season. We could try and trade another player to Atlanta for the right to keep Graham.
  10. What is up with him at the plate? I haven't been able to watch most these games, so what is he doing wrong, specifically?
  11. Arguably the best team in baseball takes on arguably the worst team in baseball... Good luck, Trevor May. You're gonna need it.
  12. Hey, they had to pitch at some point in the season.
  13. For the past few seasons, the Twins have surprised me with their lackluster performances with the bases loaded. It looks like that pattern is gonna continue into this year...
  14. Time for some positivity, everybody! I think the Twins are gonna win today! We got the bases loaded in the 1st inning!
  15. I have a feeling that the Twins didn't know about this. Why would Santana keep getting starts during spring training? I think the Twins were just as surprised as we were, but I don't have any concrete proof.
  16. Excuse #1: Trevor May isn't stretched out enough to start a MLB game. (neither is Pelfrey - he's been pitching in the bullpen!) Excuse #2: Pelfrey out-pitched May during Spring Training. Excuse #3 Terry Ryan wants Pelfrey to feel better after his demotion to the bullpen, so why not make Pelfrey happy again? Excuse #4: Pelfrey is over 30 years old and has a pulse so that makes him better than May. Pick your excuse. Whichever one(s) you pick, May is still the better option.
  17. Y'know, I have a feeling that this is the case. When the veterans "blocking" the rookies are taken off the roster, they are just replaced with other veterans.
  18. My initial reaction: "DANG IT, SANTANA!" *Notices that Pelfrey is going to start now* "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" I don't even know what to say about this. The Twins are very unforunate, as I suspect they had no idea this was going to happen. Now 2015 is extra-screwed. Maybe Pelfrey is just going to start a handful of games and return to the bullpen, where he might actually pitch well. Maybe Thompson is just a placeholder, and maybe he'll actually pitch well. Maybe Trevor May just isn't ready to pitch in the majors. But enough "maybes". I have a feeling that Pelfrey is penciled in to be a starter for all of 2015. I don't know if I even want to watch the Twins play these first few months. I mean, it's interesting to watch a train-wreck, but it's getting so repetitive now...
  19. I think he'll be a mentor to Oswaldo. He's still a young kid who could use a mentor. Outside of that, the rest of the reasons go along with what ashburyjohn said.
  20. I think Schafer is a decent 4th OF option, so I don't think he get demoted. He is a great pinch runner and could also be a defensive replacement late in games.
  21. I think Mauer can get back to .300, but I seriously doubt he can get back to 10 HRs.
  22. At this point I am praying for a half-decent waiver wire player to fall into the hands of the Twins. We were able to turn around Sam Fuld and Jordan Schafer this year, so maybe we can get another one instead of having a Schafer/Robinson CF.
  23. If you had hope it the beginning of Spring Training, it's time for a reality check. This team is not going to be good for the 5th straight year. However, I think the second half is going to be much, much better than the first half of the season.
  24. Honestly, none of these moves are that bad. It's just unfortunate that Schafer has to be our starter - we don't have any other options. Hicks and Rosario need time in the minors before we see them again. Shane Robinson has hit pretty well in ST, so I guess he earned a spot... though I don't expect him to be on the roster for very long. The Twins should be closely monitoring the waiver wire. We could use a few upgrades.
  25. We will find out that he is Thomas Milone.
