  1. What happened to Alan? Or Allen? Does anyone know someone born after 1985 named Alan? Solid name.
  2. 3 hit night was good to see but let's be honest, John Danks is just not good.

  5. Was he crushing AA though? I'd say Correa was crushing. Gallo was crushing. Schwarber was crushing. Buxton I would say was doing well, and maybe deserved a promotion to AAA soon. Admittedly with the Hicks injury and Torii getting suspended it forced the issue and there weren't any exciting alternatives. Its been fun to watch the replay of that triple over and over but he looks no more ready than Hicks when they recalled him from AA when he had put up similar stats except on defense and on the bases (that one time he was able to get on).
  6. After that Cubs series I think it might be Rizzo. Wow, dude looks like a complete hitter. I don't think I saw him whiff once (granted we're talking about Twins pitchers). edit: Guess there's one more game to that series.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Congress has ever been inclined to cut funding for social programs after they've proven ineffective in favor of experimenting with a different one. What seems to happen is that programs become entrenched because of the election cycle, nobody wants to lose black votes and then the white voters who subsidize these programs now are pitted against the black voters who benefit from them, and that is just more fuel for racial resentment.
  8. I agree with that. I doubt any trade partner is going to discount his k-rate and thus the return would be lousy. I just hope he can stay at 94+ rest of the year.
  9. In a trade discussion the projection is what matters more than past performance. Sure Pelfrey has had a great ERA but the peripherals are better indicators of future performance, and thus trade value, no? That said, I think Pelfrey's a bit of an outlier as he seems to consistently be a stud *if* he's dealing at 94-95 and not 91-93, even though the K-numbers seem to stay about constant either way.
  10. The Sox do need a 3b...
  11. Should we discount the 2014 stats due to the suspension? I am hoping it was a Kendrys Morales type blip in his career, due to the late start.
  12. Some interesting names now and in the pipeline so why does Escobar continue to get playing time out there?
  13. Like a $10/day apartment? I wish I could rent for that! OTOH clubhouse dues seems kinda dumb.
  14. Seems like moving to setup would be like an opt-out clause almost. Assuming he stays healthy/productive that would be in his best interests for sure.
  15. Right. Its a great tease, that's for sure (but I'm still too cheap to pay for a subscription)
  16. So... what's DRA? And what is Morris' DRA?
  17. I admit I struggle with race on almost a daily basis. The language, dress, volume, chaos, recalcitrance at everything. I know there are reasons black people aren't 100% on board with what we're doing here, there is rot in the foundation of this country. But we all have to deal with authority at some level, either at work or at home or in prison. That's the way the world is, its bigger than any race. I know I'm supposed to care about why its different for them, but I can never understand anyway. So I don't really try. But I still see it all and it simmers.
  18. Siegrist is a stud. A LH bat isn't supposed to do anything in that spot.
  19. Personally I like the ASG a lot. I think its cool to see all the best players on the field at once. IIRC the reason they connected the ASG to the WS was so that players would actually show up. I still consider it 99% an exhibition since the odds of the Twins going to the WS in any year are going to be small.
  20. Fan voting has been used to select players off and on (mostly on) since 1947. Its supposed to be an exhibition after all. You know, for the fans. They just need to tweak the system so to account for the fanatics who take the home field advantage angle way too seriously.
  21. I'll make a call - the Twins will package May and/or Milone in July for a LH reliever.
  22. Not only that, but the DH spot is kinda the problem. If Vargas were hitting like we all wanted, we probably wouldn't be talking about calling up Sano to replace Rosario or Hunter (or Plouffe). Unless Vargas turns things around quickly, DH is where he'd likely be the biggest upgrade anyway.
  23. Its almost like the Red Sox aren't whole unless they have a comically bad LFer named Ramirez.
  24. Joe seems to have bungled some first-to-second plays this year for whatever reason. The other day he hit a runner in the back, and in a game a few weeks ago had a double play ball hit to him but he threw it so softly that the return throw didn't come in time. Strange. Maybe nothing tho.
