Anyone else thinking of that game from last August (IIRC) where the Twins scored like 12 runs on past balls when Navarro was catching for the Jays? He has a decent bat (stronger against LHP though). But I don't think he has much for a glove.
And Rosario could use more time in AAA, he's a little underwater I think. I know the defense would take a hit but still seems like a worthwhile tradeoff IMO.
The Twins have already made Sano a millionaire (which honestly, doesn't help the prospect of a long term extension at any kind of discount). They could also negotiate incentives, bonuses, etc. into any contract.
Alright then, a billion dollars. Lock him up. Go ahead and retire number 22 and schedule the WS victory parade while they're at it. This kid is gonna lead us to the promised land.
I'm all for the move in theory, provided Nunez is actually faster than Sano. Seems like he's constantly making outs on the bases. I'd be curious to see who wins in a foot race between those two.
Definitely. Having moved for guys like Davis, Herrera, Hochevar, Madson, etc. allows the Royals to shed lesser talents. Perhaps the Twins should make similar moves so they can enjoy the same luxury.
Would be nice to see the Twins act on peripherals instead of waiting for regression to cost them games first. I'm slightly jealous of Royals fans right now.
There was also destitution in most cases. But you're talking about a country where better than 1/3 are obese. There is no precedent for the abundance and standard of living that even low-income Americans enjoy.
Last Thursday night I went to McDonalds and bought TWO ice cream cones (one vanilla, one chocolate) for $1.38 total. Then I walked over to the Redbox and rented a Taken 3 on blu-ray. Its a ****ty movie I know but I was watching with friends and access to media is so easy that we've come around to watching the crappy stuff ironically. Drove to someone's house 10 miles away for less than $1 in fuel. Then drove home. That was my night. Didn't cost $5. I don't care that the CEO of Bank of America makes 400,000x my earnings. You can live like a king in this country on a very little amount of money. God I love capitalism.
Phil Hughes moved to the pen in the Yankees 2009 World Series run. Literally every member of the Cardinals rotation has logged innings in relief (except Lackey). It should not be such an agonizing decision to move your next best starter into a relief role for temporary bullpen help. Its a team game, move him to the pen if it will help. At this point, it can't hurt to try.
Its still way early but I've been impressed by Sano's zone judgement out of the gate. The Royals came after him with some offspeed stuff in the dirt and he laid off most of them nicely, and actually worked a few counts. Can't wait to watch him take more ABs.
Perkins cannot relieve every game. Molitor played the righty-righty lefty-lefty matchups with the pieces he was given, the players just aren't up to snuff. Get. Better. Players.
Honestly, Thompson has 24 ks to 19 balls in 46 innings. All relief. Similar story in the minors. Being left handed should not be such an automatic ticket onto this team. Cut him!!!
And one could could make about a dozen compelling arguments any which way ATM. We are also lacking info. on most guys how they would perform in relief, which further clouds the picture.
I guess I'm in the minority preferring that these guys not skip AAA but maybe he catches fire and gives the team just the boost they need. That would be pretty great.
