  1. And Garlick does the exact damn thing. Sheesh! No patience and discipline. Lousy, lousy at bats with 2 on.
  2. Jeffers impatient at bat. 1-0 count, still swung at pitcher's pitch. Rats!
  3. He is not going to throw strikes until the Twins' hitters stop swinging at balls down in the dirt.
  4. Finally kept one in side the 3B line. Good job!
  5. OK, solid second inning by the young man and now the Twins need to take a deep breath, settle in, and start working this pitcher and make him throw strikes and stop chasing his pitches.
  6. This guy reminds of the Twins futility vs. Buehrle. Just tempts you into swinging at bad pitches, and the hittable ones are all yanked down the line harmlessly. Very frustrating to watch.
  7. Garlick was robbed on that AB. Should have been 3-1, and then no need to chase the garbage low in the zone. Should be bases loaded, no outs.
  8. Good composure to get out of that inning after the horrendous start. Twins need to be patient and smart against this crafty lefty.
  9. Yankees are always tough--especially for the Twins--but we are lucky to be catching them early in the year when most of their stud pitching is on the IL.... Really pulling for young Mr. Valand tonight. GO TWINS!
  10. Regarding the shower pic, that reflective chrome bar in the lower left corner is showing an Xrated image. Just an FYI, suggest you take it down....
  11. Wow, 12 LOB, but an excellent pitching performance all the way around. Good start to the year, Folks!
  12. Larnach looks calm and comfortable at the plate. Great to see!
  13. Really solid at bat by Solar. Just hit it solidly right at the LF. Like his aggression even though he was up 2-0 on the count.
  14. Very nice pitching by Lopez after the broken bat bleeder. Very nice.
  15. Wow, more guys LOB. Same team, different year. We need someone that THRIVES in these situations. Too many of our hitters SHRINK when guys are on base....Had a chance to put a huge dent in this game right off the proverbial bat. Rats!
  16. It is a black eye to MLB that it took them so long and protracted litigation to treat these young men fairly. Glad it is finally accomplished, and also glad MLB players chose to support and negotiate on behalf of the younger, less accomplished brethren.
  17. Homer of Megill today was a first-pitch fastball right down the middle that the left handed Pirate hitter no-doubted out of the stadium. Right fielder never moved. Megill throws hard, but it looks like his fastball has zero movement. Straight as an arrow.
  18. Why trade for middling bullpen talent when you can just sign that from FA without giving up prospects?
  19. It has now been over a week since the Mets "deal" was announced. Even allowing for the Christmas holidays, obviously there is no easy solution as far as Boras. Correa and the Mets are concerned. Certainly opens up the market for Correa again to something creative, but the Mets still should be in the driver's seat with the large market, great team on paper, and his friendship with Lindor. Twins would need appear to need to sell remaining at SS and perhaps a shorter, higher AAV contract to bring him back. I would greatly prefer something like 5/$175 to buy his "tenderloin" years of 28-33 and avoid the years of more likely decline in his mid to late 30's.
  20. I would not fire sale Kepler at all. He is still a decent player who may hit for higher average with the shift banned. His defense is rock solid and he is, by all accounts, a good clubhouse teammate. I like a potential OF of Gallo-Buxton-Kepler. Terrific speed and range, and good to great arms. Probably best defensive OF in baseball (when Buxton plays). Gordon as backup is solid as well, and Larnach may surprise too. If they can get good pitching for Max, sure, but not just to trade him for mediocre talent.
  21. It is not just the fractured fibula, it is the plate they put in and the likelihood of arthritis setting in. Heck, it might already be present, and it is not going to get better with time. Still expect the Mets and Correa/Boras to hammer out a deal, but with the passage of time things certainly are getting more interesting....
  22. I was also offline all day and fully expected to read tonight that Correa and the Mets had worked out a new deal. Still expect that to happen, but the longer it is taking, the more it seems other options may materialize.
  23. I, too, would be much happier with a higher AAV, shorter deal. Something like 6/$220M would make more sense--to the extent that is even possible--than they decades plus long deals getting signed and are manifestly silly.
  24. 3? 3! Only 3 Twins need to step up? How about more than a dozen!
