    Possibly, he makes sense there but the Twins are convinced he’s a RFer. He’s soon to be 28 and has been playing the OF his whole life. I’m wondering when this breakthrough is gonna come. Hitting wise and D wise. Maybe when he turns 30. Who knows.

    They’re not bringing up Jenkins or E-rod. A full rebuild consists of getting rid of everyone and looking to compete in 3-5 years. The timeline might dictate competitiveness is 3-5 years but Falvey doesn’t have that much time. They’re gonna want lower upside closer to the majors guys in order to field a competitive team next year if they go sell mode this week through next.

    Yeah, Jenkins needs a place to play next year. If Wallner apart of the plans then move him to first base. He’s got a great arm yes. But his routes are terrible and he constantly gets bad jumps on balls and he doesn’t look as bad because he’s got the best CFer in the game next to him. I’m sick of hearing how good the metrics and the numbers say how good he “should” be. To me he looks lost half the time and puts in numerous uncompetitive AB’s a game just to hit a 425ft solo HR every 8-10 games. Larnach adjusts faster in game and can put a competitive AB together. That’s more telling to me than Wallners AB’s. By the way…. These 2 net you zero.

    Can we move on from encarnacion-strand? He’s batting .208 with a -.7 WAR. This system can’t develop hitters. As far as Larnach he’s a topper of a bigger trade. Not a centerpiece. Unless you want a 45 rated lotto ticket in A ball in return I suggest we keep him for now. He’s part of a package. Not “the” package.

    I just don’t see Rushing as a catcher. Sorry. In which case I would rather have a true hitter that is much better than a guy who is a catcher by name only. Trading for Rushing doesn’t solve the catcher problem. It just leaves the Twins without a true solid catcher if Jeffers is traded or after next year when he becomes a free agent. Same with Ballesteros from the cubs. Can they play catcher? Yes. Do you want them handling a staff? Blocking balls? Framing pitches? Absolutely not. I would rather have a Christian Vazquez behind the plate than a Henry Davis. There’s a reason Martin Maldonado made a career in Houston even though he couldn’t hit a lick. D over O at catcher 10 times out of 10.

    I’d stick Caissie at 1B and just run with it. As late by as he hits .250 with 15-20 bombs that’s better than the last 3 1Bman we’ve trotted out in recent years. Agreed if Ballesteros’ bat is for real then you find a spot. I just don’t think he solves the catcher dilemma that will be.

    And Ballesteros isn’t even a good catching prospect. He’s probably a DH in 3 years. No thanks

    I want all 4! For Ryan?!?! Just Ballesteros and Wiggins get an immediate hang up if that’s all they’re offering. I’d rather have Cassie and Alcantara over what is proposed here though. Where does Ballesteros play if you just want his bat?

    Yeah, doesn’t make any sense. I’ll take Caissie and Alcantara over both. Ballesteros won’t be a catcher long term and Wiggins will be a BP arm at best. Hurts the franchise. Doesn’t change it other than another trade that went wrong for a SP.

    I think it’s in the neighborhood for sure! I’ve been high on Quero since this last winter. A stud! Seen him play in Nashville a few times. Very solid defense.

    Hindsight’s always 20/20 and nothing is guaranteed. If you want more than that then let’s put on our imagination caps and ask for 100 top 100’s. Would that be enough?

    Eh, Painter is coming back from an injury and struggling at AAA. He’s a good prospect but a 1-B for me.

    Miller/ Crawford or Abel just to start the conversation.

    Rushing isn’t a legit catching prospect. Quero from Milwaukee and Ford from Seattle are legit to stay at catcher and close to MLB. Rushing is a LF in my mind.

    Not many teams wanting those guys have a top 10 nationally if any. Multiple top 100’s is what you’re shopping for.

    No on Rushing. If Keaschall is getting floated around as well as the rentals and Jax/Duran this may be a shakeup/retool for 2026 rather than a rebuild. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Lewis and Jeffers’ names getting floated as well.

    Selling him high! He still has steam and might get them a controllable bat.

    It is the determining factor. That’s why they want multiple top 100’s for premium relievers when there’s only so many. It’s either that or the Twins keep them. Simple. If you want them then other teams gotta pay up.

    That ain’t happening. He’s the best catcher in MLB not named Raleigh on one of the best teams in MLB. I want Judge hitting behind Buxton.

    Agreed! I don’t want Rushing and I don’t want Painter. I’d rather take De Paula/Hope or Abel/Crawford/Miller. Rushing isn’t a catcher going forward and Painter is an oft injured starter going forward more likely a bullpen arm. I believe anyways.

    I agree. I wouldn’t even want Rushing really if I had to choose cause I don’t believe he’s a catcher. Same with Painter from the Phillies. Seems like a Tyler Glasnow to me. I’d rather get a big time prospect no matter the position and fill the trade with electric arms you can plug right into the bullpen. Don’t mess with trying to salvage a starter out of LA’s glut of pitchers. What I’m saying is don’t pull a Varland. Find guys that have stalled out on these teams as starters and take their one or two electric pitches and throw them in the BP right away.

    I like how you’re looking at Milwaukee and Seattle because they ultimately have the catching prospects that would fit the Twins best in Jefferson Quero and Harry Ford. Both guys hitting well at AAA. Both are above average if not plus defensively. If they want MLB ready catching the question is what do those two teams need? It seems they would both need bats or bullpen. I don’t like rushing as you and I have discussed for the fact I don’t think he’s a catcher going forward. At least not every day. I think we involve the dodgers in a 3 team trade or just go with the Phillies. The Phillies don’t have the MLB ready catcher but they’ve got a lot more intriguing prospects that the cupboard to pick from that’s relatively close.

    I’d rather lure the Phillies into a deal as they have some more intriguing prospects that are closer but it would also be nice to rob the dodgers cabinet of some further away higher upside guys. A couple high upside bats and a couple high octane arms to plug right into the bullpen. Don’t mess around with making them starters and just let them loose. I’m talking De Paula, Hope, Ferris, Frasso and Bruns. 3 of those 5 and a throw in and I think you pull the trigger.
