  1. Sacrifice defense and the loss margin increases, you cannot out hit a team if your defense sucks.
  2. Two players above the Mendoza line, never thought I would see that.
  3. They do not want a gaping hole in the defense, makes a lot of sense.
  4. I will wait till next year before I give Martin Miracle Worker status. Cave, Larnach, Kirilloff, Wallner all came up and had one year -- the next great Twin -- years, but then came hit-miss seasons. I do like Martin taking a less from Lewis with the Alice Cooper face paint -- oddly appealing.
  5. Vazquez, Farmer, Kirilloff, Santana and Margot all have a low stike out rate.
  6. Well, it works both ways; for quite some time posters peed and moaned the Twins were ONLY a bomba squad, not enough small ball. This year the small ball is still mostly gone, and when they do get runners on, double plays or strike outs are what are common. So, I miss the bomba squad, at least single run home runs put the opposing pitchers on edge.
  7. Is It Time for the Diamondbacks to Bring Up Kyler Garlick? ith Alek Thomas on the injured list, outfielder Kyle Garlick has emerged as an appealing option for the Diamondbacks to bolster their outfield depth. Despite struggling with the Twins last season, Garlick has kicked off this year with the Reno Aces on a hot streak at the plate. With seven home runs in 11 games, Garlick has amassed a remarkable 1.086 OPS in the first two weeks. He has recorded at least one hit in 9 of the Aces’ 11 games. Garlick currently leads the entire Pacific Coast League in home runs and ranks 2nd in RBIs with 19.... https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/mlb/is-it-time-for-the-diamondbacks-to-bring-up-kyler-garlick/ar-BB1lwSII
  8. Seeing the picture from that article, at first I thought they mistakenly put a picture of La Tortuga there.😆
  9. In your opinion - rationalizing - but an opinion. https://www.thesportster.com/baseball/top-15-pitchers-with-the-hardest-fastballs-of-all-time/ This is from a pitching discussion on another forum: Atley Donald and Van Lingle Mungo were early hard-throwers that were actually measured. Even though both were clocked rather crudely, their measurements would extrapolate to over 100 mph on a modern radar gun. A modern radar gun measures the pitch either out of the hand or ten feet away from the pitcher, depending on the gun...most measurements all the way up to the 1980's would measure a pitcher about 60 feet from his hand (although I believe Walter Johnson was clocked 25 or 30 feet away from his hand). https://www.baseball-fever.com/forum/general-baseball/history-of-the-game/48970-speed-of-old-time-pitchers
  10. Team with Ex-Twins on it.
  11. He has not shown he can hit any Major League pitching at a level over the Mendoza line. Wishful thinking feels good that rarely more.
  12. When Margot does get on base, he can score from first on a single fairly easily.
  13. Polanco would be a far better on defense than Julien but I am surprised that while at this point , Julien has a 42% K rate, Polanco has a 39% rate
  14. That statement hits the nail square on the head with a two-pound maul.
  15. Bring back Wally the Beer Man and a hot dog and a beer for less than 5 bucks, the stands will be full.
  16. Watching pitches go down the middle of the strike zone did not happen in Harmon's day either. Trout and Witt must get all old school pitches.
  17. Stevenson was bullying AAA pitching last year, came up, Major League pitchers played games with his bat. Martin has so far, done what they hoped Stevenson would do last year.
  18. Julien at 2nd, Miranda at 1st, the most massive hole in defense possible in the major league no offense could make up for.
  19. I really, really , really do not want to say this, BUT , I agree with you. Twins could trade Larnach for Rortvedt who is as I type this batting .320; he has zero home runs so maybe he dumped the Twins swing for the fences BS, and just tries to hit the ball.🤯
  20. The majority of the teams players are beyond bad this year, so far.
  21. Santana is here because Kirilloff is poor with a glove; Miranda is no better than Kirilloff, that is why Santana is here.
  22. That makes no sense, If Santana plays closer to the line the ball get by inbetween Santana and Julien. Julien has very, very poor range, which has been shown by when Santana does play close to the line the gap between practically has a sign saying -- Hit Ball Here.
  23. Move to what? As bad as Santana has been, there is nothing to move to.
